I cannot answer all of the questions above, because it will not be installed for another 3 weeks. The long wait is caused by ACTEW - The local Canberra electricity supplier. After installation I will have to wait another 2-3 months for an engineering "building inspection" from the ACT Land and Planning Authority, then a further 2-3 months for connection to the grid.
EVERY installation has a FULL electrical AND engineering inspection, by a separate organisation. The engineering inspection checks compliance with the ACT building regulations, objections by neighbours, the standard of the physical install etc. One must get "Installation Approved" status, before the final electrical grid connection.
It is slow, and costly, but it protects the consumer from dodgey workmanship. |
