This week, we&#8217;re turning our attention to the inverter \u2014 the box on the wall that converts DC solar power into the 230 volts AC your home uses.<\/p>\n<h2><!--more-->What Is The Best Solar Inverter In 2026?<\/h2>\n<p>125 installers from the SolarQuotes network responded to this year&#8217;s survey, answering a simple question:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIf you were putting a solar inverter on your own home today, what brand would you choose?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/sungrow-review.html\">Sungrow<\/a> came out on top with 27% of installer votes, ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/sigenergy-review.html\">Sigenergy<\/a> on 22%, while long-time favourite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/fronius-review.html\">Fronius<\/a> rounded out the podium with 13%.<\/p>\n<h2>Best Solar Inverters In Australia: 2026<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-100160\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/inverter-breakdown-2026.jpg\" alt=\"2026 Installer's Choice Awards - best inverter top 5\" width=\"900\" height=\"404\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/inverter-breakdown-2026.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/inverter-breakdown-2026-300x135.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/inverter-breakdown-2026-768x345.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The battle for third was particularly close, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/istore-review.html\">iStore<\/a> finishing just one percentage point behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/fronius-review.html\">Fronius<\/a> on 12%. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/battery-storage\/reviews\/tesla-powerwall-3-review.html\">Tesla<\/a> came fifth with 7% even though their inverter only comes inside their Powerwall 3 battery.<\/p>\n<h2>First Place: Sungrow<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_100159\" style=\"width: 832px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-100159\" class=\"wp-image-100159 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sungrow-inverter-chief-electricians.jpg\" alt=\"Sungrow hybrid inverter\" width=\"822\" height=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sungrow-inverter-chief-electricians.jpg 822w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sungrow-inverter-chief-electricians-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/sungrow-inverter-chief-electricians-768x449.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 822px) 100vw, 822px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-100159\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A Sungrow hybrid inverter installed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/installer-review\/chief-electricians-pty-ltd\/\">Chief Electricians<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sungrow has been around in Australia since 2012, but its story stretches back much further. Founded in China in 1997, it has grown into the world&#8217;s largest inverter manufacturer, shipping millions of units around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>So why are installers voting for it?<\/p>\n<p>One reason is flexibility. Sungrow&#8217;s residential inverters offer up to four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/mppt\/\">MPPTs (Maximum Power Point Trackers)<\/a>, allowing solar panels to be spread across multiple roof orientations while still performing efficiently. That&#8217;s particularly useful on the complex roof designs common in Australian homes.<\/p>\n<p>Installers also like the fact that Sungrow packs plenty of capability into a relatively affordable inverter. Its modular design combines batteries, inverters and energy management into a single stackable system, creating a tidy installation that has proven popular with both installers and homeowners.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s rise hasn&#8217;t been entirely without challenges. Last year, certain single-phase Sigenergy units were recalled following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/sigenergys-terminal-problem-burnt-plugs-throttled-inverters\/\">problems with overheating AC connectors.<\/a> The issue generated significant discussion within the industry, particularly around the causes of the failures, with Sigenergy redesigning the connector and promising to replace affected products.<\/p>\n<p>Despite that setback, installers clearly remain enthusiastic about the brand. In fact, it won the SolarQuotes Installer&#8217;s Choice Award for five consecutive years.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s third-place finish highlights how competitive the inverter market has become, with newer brands offering increasingly capable products for less money.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, Fronius remains one of the most respected inverter brands in the industry and continues to enjoy strong support from installers.<\/p>\n<h2>The Inverter Market Is As Competitive As Ever<\/h2>\n<p>Congratulations to Sungrow on taking out top spot in the 2026 SolarQuotes Installer&#8217;s Choice Awards for solar inverters.<\/p>\n<p>The results also show just how competitive the inverter market has become.
