We&#8217;ll update this post with information as it becomes available &#8211; Origin is expected to announce its new incentives in the next couple of days.<\/p>\n<h2>Queensland<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>AGL : 10.6c (+77%)<\/li>\n<li>Energy Australia: 11c (+83%)<\/li>\n<li>Origin (from July 15):\u00a0 standard\u00a0 &#8211; 7c (+17%), Southern QLD &#8211;\u00a0 10.102c (+36%)<\/li>\n<li>Ergon Energy : 10.102c (+36%)<\/li>\n<li>Diamond: currently 12c<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/qld\/\">More QLD information<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>New South Wales<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>AGL : 11.1c (+82%)<\/li>\n<li>EnergyAustralia : 12.5c (+105%)<\/li>\n<li>Origin: standard &#8211; 9c (+50%), Solar Boost &#8211; 15c (+50%)<\/li>\n<li>Diamond: currently 12c<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/nsw\/\">Further NSW details<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the 23rd of June, IPART <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipart.nsw.gov.au\/files\/sharedassets\/website\/shared-files\/pricing-reviews-energy-services-publications-review-of-solar-feed-in-tariffs-201718\/solar-feed-in-tariffs-201718-fact-sheet-final-recommendation.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> its benchmark range for solar feed in tariffs in 2017-18 is 11.9c to 15c per kilowatt hour. It says the increase was mainly due to higher forecast wholesale electricity prices in 2017-18. The benchmark is a guideline, not mandatory.<\/p>\n<h2>ACT<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Origin\u00a0(from July 15) : standard &#8211; 9c (+50%), Solar Boost &#8211; 15c (+50%)<\/li>\n<li>Additional details on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/act\/\">ACT feed in tariff<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Victoria<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>AGL: 11.3c (+126%)<\/li>\n<li>Origin: 11.3c (+88%)<\/li>\n<li>Diamond: currently 12c<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/vic\/\">More VIC FiT incentive info<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tasmania<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>On June 23, Tasmania&#8217;s Economic Regulator <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/f8gydf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">determined<\/a> a solar feed in tariff rate of 8.929c per kilowatt hour for 2017\/18 &#8211; an increase of 34% compared to 2016\/17. Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/tas\/\">feed in tariffs in Tasmania<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>South Australia<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>AGL: 16.3c (+140%)<\/li>\n<li>Energy Australia : 15c (+82%)<\/li>\n<li>Origin: standard &#8211; 11c\u00a0 (+62%), Solar Boost &#8211; 18c (+80%)<\/li>\n<li>Diamond: currently 12c<\/li>\n<li>More <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/sa\/\">South Australian feed in tariff info<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Western Australia<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/wa\/\">No change<\/a> at this stage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Northern Territory<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/feed-in-tariffs\/nt\/\">No change<\/a> &#8211; but the NT&#8217;s solar feed in tariff remains a the most generous in the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Solar Even More Financially Attractive<\/h2>\n<p>The changes will help absorb some of the brunt of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/electricity-costs-australia-july-mb0083\/\">increases to electricity costs<\/a> from July; which affect both solar power system owners and those without.<\/p>\n<p>Between electricity price and FiT hikes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/solar101.html\">installing solar panels<\/a> has become an even better investment &#8211; even in states where previously it wasn&#8217;t such a good proposition if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/nothomeduringday.html\">nobody is at home during the day<\/a>. However, rising feed in tariffs don&#8217;t improve the economics of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/battery-storage\/comparison-table\/\">solar battery storage<\/a>; an issue SQ blogger Ronald will discuss in more detail soon.<\/p>\n<h2>Caveat Emptor On FiT&#8217;s<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to bear in mind the highest solar feed in tariff isn&#8217;t always the best and solar owners should read over any offers carefully to determine the most appropriate arrangement for their circumstances.
