Note that these figures are not weighted for population &#8211; something we&#8217;ll look at doing down the track a little to make this information more useful.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15699\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/solar-interest-state-september.png\" alt=\"Solar power interest in Australian states - September 2017\" width=\"700\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/solar-interest-state-september.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/solar-interest-state-september-300x185.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Solar Power System Size Preference<\/h2>\n<p>The percentage of Australians wanting a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/systems\/5kw\/\">5kW solar system<\/a> dropped a little in September compared to August, however, there was an increase in the percentage requesting quotes for 6kW+ systems. There was also a marked increase of those who wanted guidance on system size (44% in September compared to 40% in August).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15703\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/system-size-preference-september.png\" alt=\"Solar power system size preference - September 2017\" width=\"700\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/system-size-preference-september.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/system-size-preference-september-300x183.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>System Purchase Timeframe<\/h2>\n<p>77% of those requesting quotes intend to buy solar within the next 3 months, up a couple of percent on last month. 15% were ready to buy immediately, indicating plenty of Australians are keen to get solar panels on their rooftop as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15701\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/solar-purchase-intent-september.png\" alt=\"solar purchase intent - September 2017\" width=\"700\" height=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/solar-purchase-intent-september.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/solar-purchase-intent-september-300x187.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Price\/Quality Preference<\/h2>\n<p>SolarQuotes recently introduced a new question during the quoting process regarding price vs. quality. The question asks, &#8221; What Type of System Are You After?&#8221; The response options are:<\/p>\n<p>A) Top quality (most expensive)<br \/>\nB) A good mix of quality and price<br \/>\nC) A good budget system<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 80% indicated they wanted a good mix of quality and price. A \u201cbattery-ready\u201d system option is also offered at this point as an alternative.<\/p>\n<h2>Battery System Size<\/h2>\n<p>Where a size was indicated, 46% chose a battery with 10kWh+ capacity.
