{"id":16211,"date":"2017-10-27T05:08:42","date_gmt":"2017-10-26T18:38:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/?p=16211"},"modified":"2017-10-27T14:00:29","modified_gmt":"2017-10-27T03:30:29","slug":"jinko-solar-record-mb0266","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/jinko-solar-record-mb0266\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Conversion Efficiency World Record For Jinko Solar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16212\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/jinko-solar-panels-1.png\" alt=\"P-type monocrystalline PERC solar cell record\" width=\"636\" height=\"373\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jinko Solar has announced it has again set a new a conversion efficiency record &#8211; this time for P-type monocrystalline PERC solar cells.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/jinko-solar-review.html\">JinkoSolar<\/a> broke the existing and freshly minted world record, announced just days ago by Longi Solar <sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/jinko-solar-record-mb0266\/#en-16211-1' id='enref-16211-1' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(16211)'>1<\/a><\/sup>, by achieving conversion efficiency of 22.78% on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/p-type-and-n-type-solar-cells-excellent-electron-adventure\/\"> P-type<\/a> monocrystalline PERC solar cells. The result was verified by the Chinese Academy of Science Testing Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>The company says the achievement was attained through a number of enhancements, including the use of selective emitter structure and fine-finger metallization technologies; which significantly reduced energy losses caused by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pveducation.org\/pvcdrom\/design\/current-losses-due-to-recombination\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recombination<\/a> and improved open circuit voltage and conversion efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, we reported Jinko Solar had achieved <span class=\"ccbnNewsArticleText\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/jinkosolar-cell-efficiency-mb0244\/\">conversion efficiency of 22.04%<\/a> for \u201cpractical sized\u201d P-type multi-crystalline silicon solar cells, verified by Fraunhofer ISE Germany. This was the second time the company had broken this world record since October 2016 .<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8221; We plan to apply what we\u2019ve learned from our successful world record attempts in a test production environment,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jinkosolar.com\/press_detail_1389.html?lan=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0 Kangping Chen, CEO of Jinko Solar. &#8221; We will then rapidly seek the mass application of our new technologies to further bring down the cost per watt of our modules.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In other recent news from the company, the firm announced earlier this month it had supplied 12.7 MW of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/jinko-solar-review.html\">Jinko Solar panels<\/a> to Hitachi Systems, Ltd. for a solar plant in Ulan Bator (Ulaanbaatar), Mongolia. Ulan Bator is the nation&#8217;s capital and largest city. It has a population of around 1.3 million, which is almost half of the country&#8217;s total population. It also has the unpleasant distinction of being one of the most polluted cities in the world; with the burning of coal one of the main culprits.<\/p>\n<p>The PV facility will be the country\u2019s first utility scale solar farm and is expected to be connected to the grid next month.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is a big step for us in expanding our presence in Mongolia. We look forward to creating a bright future for solar energy there,&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/ir.jinkosolar.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=234421&amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;ID=2308691\">said<\/a> JinkoSolar&#8217;s Vice President Global Sales and Marketing, Gener Miao.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There may be plenty of opportunities for JinkoSolar and other PV manufacturers in the country, with the Mongolian Government <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irena.org\/DocumentDownloads\/Publications\/IRENA_RRA_Mongolia_2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">setting a target<\/a> of 20 per cent renewables by 2023 and 30 per cent by 2030.<\/p>\n<p><b>Trivia :<\/b> While utility-scale solar is new to Mongolia, solar energy has been improving the lives of the country&#8217;s nomadic herders for years.
