Total funding available in this round is $3 million.<\/p>\n<p>The first round of NEJF resulted in 24 successful projects and funding of $5.9 million. Round two saw 21 projects funded a total of $6.8 million.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the previous recipients of grants include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australian Wind &amp; Solar &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/sunmate-diverter-funding-mb0228\/\">to assist in boosting production<\/a> of its hot water diverter device.<\/li>\n<li>Geelong Sustainability &#8211; kickstart funding for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/community-solar-geelong-mb0245\/\">community solar power investment model<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Moreland City Council &#8211; fuelling waste trucks with hydrogen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/hydrogen-trucks-solar-victoria-mb0155\/\"> extracted using wind and solar power<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>SEA Electric &#8211; development of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/australia-electric-truck-mb0123\/\">commercial electric vehicle<\/a> manufacturing facility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business.vic.gov.au\/support-for-your-business\/future-industries\/new-energy-technologies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> New Energy Jobs Fund<\/a> is part of the $200 million <a href=\"http:\/\/www.business.vic.gov.au\/support-for-your-business\/future-industries\"> Future Industries Fund<\/a>, which identifies six priority sectors, including new energy technologies, with the potential for significant\u00a0economic growth and to create high-skill, well-paying jobs in the state.<\/p>\n<h2>Microgrid Initiative<\/h2>\n<p>Also announced yesterday by the Victorian Government was its $10 million Microgrid Demonstration Initiative. Grants of between $100,000 and $5 million will be provided for microgrid demonstration projects, with view to unlocking clean energy microgrid markets in the state.<\/p>\n<p>A microgrid is a<span class=\"st\" data-hveid=\"45\" data-ved=\"0ahUKEwj-gtbbm4XYAhVBQLwKHbJbBxkQ4EUILTAA\"> local network of electricity generation sources and energy storage connected to the mains grid that can also operate disconnected from it, continuing electricity supply in a local area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The initial Expression of Interest process will be followed by a Request for Proposal in 2018. In total, the Victorian Government will contribute up to $15.8 million over four years to develop and implement microgrid demonstration projects across the state.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThrough initiatives like the New Energy Jobs Fund and the microgrid project, we\u2019re helping create new jobs and improve our renewable energy capabilities,&#8221;
