{"id":17610,"date":"2017-12-14T09:53:20","date_gmt":"2017-12-13T23:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/?p=17610"},"modified":"2017-12-14T09:53:20","modified_gmt":"2017-12-13T23:23:20","slug":"solar-australia-statistics-mb0366","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-australia-statistics-mb0366\/","title":{"rendered":"Australian Small Scale Solar Installation Statistics For November 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_17612\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17612\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17612\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/solar-statistics-australia.jpg\" alt=\"Australian solar installation statistics\" width=\"700\" height=\"436\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-17612\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image: <a href=\"https:\/\/pixabay.com\/en\/solar-cells-solar-solar-panel-roof-594166\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">marcusspiske<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n<p>November was a busy month in Australia for &lt;100kW capacity solar power installations according to the Clean Energy Regulator, and concurrent battery installations picked up again.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There were 7,944 small-scale systems\u00a0, including PV and solar hot water, installed nationally in November, with a total capacity of 43,664 kW.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Installation rates for November are currently tracking higher than October, with 7944 installed compared to 7412 last month,&#8221; states the Regulator.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Regulator says &#8220;currently&#8221; due to the fact its statistics are based on Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) creation<sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-australia-statistics-mb0366\/#en-17610-1' id='enref-17610-1' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(17610)'>1<\/a><\/sup>; which can be generated up to 12 months after installation, meaning figures for October and November will continue to increase.<\/p>\n<p>The Regulator says national cumulative totals of small scale renewable energy systems (since 2001) have reached 2,856,203 installations.<\/p>\n<p>With regard to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/fb-commercial2.html\">commercial<\/a> and home <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/solar101.html\">solar power system<\/a> installations specifically during November, here&#8217;s how the states are stacking up:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Queensland: 2,210<\/li>\n<li>New South Wales: 1,565<\/li>\n<li>ACT: 60<\/li>\n<li>Victoria: 662<\/li>\n<li>Tasmania: 87<\/li>\n<li>South Australia: 728<\/li>\n<li>Western Australia: 1,457<\/li>\n<li>Northern Territory: 79<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The latest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cleanenergyregulator.gov.au\/Infohub\/Media-Centre\/Pages\/Resources\/RET%20media%20resources\/Cracking-the-small-scale-code---November-2017.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cracking The Small Scale Code<\/a> notes 164 solar PV systems with a concurrent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/battery-storage\/comparison-table\/\">solar battery storage<\/a> installation occurring in November, nearly double the number in October (88) and also higher than September (132). November&#8217;s figure represents just 3% of overall PV installations during the month.<\/p>\n<p>SolarQuotes&#8217; latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/aussii-solar-report-dec17-mb0344\/\">auSSII report<\/a> covering November indicated just over 5% of Australians requesting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/quote\">solar quotes<\/a> also wanted system pricing to include a concurrent energy storage installation. This figure has remained reasonably static over the last few months, but interest in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/battery-storage\/battery-ready\/\">battery-ready systems<\/a> increased significantly last month; from 10% in October to 13% in November.<\/p>\n<p>On the commercial solar energy side of things, 535 commercial-sized solar power systems (10 \u2013 100kW capacity) were installed across Australia in November. As with smaller systems, Queensland led the pack; accounting for 178 systems.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, Victoria could see a spike in interest in installing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/cost\/\">solar panels<\/a> starting in January, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/electricity-prices-victoria-mb0327\/\">electricity price rises<\/a> of up to 14.9% will hit most Victorians &#8211; a rather nasty start to the new year.<\/p>\n<p>Interest in PV power in the Northern Territory is also expected to increase as a result of the recent announcement of NT&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-grants-nt-mb0360\/\">Smart Energy Grant<\/a> scheme;
