{"id":24549,"date":"2018-09-26T07:34:47","date_gmt":"2018-09-25T21:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/?p=24549"},"modified":"2018-09-26T07:36:58","modified_gmt":"2018-09-25T21:06:58","slug":"panasonic-ac-solar-panel-mb0761","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/panasonic-ac-solar-panel-mb0761\/","title":{"rendered":"Panasonic Unveils AC Solar Panel At SPI 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24550\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/enphase-panasonic-ac-solar.jpg\" alt=\"Panasonic HIT solar panel featuring Enphase microinverter\" width=\"700\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/enphase-panasonic-ac-solar.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/enphase-panasonic-ac-solar-300x171.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Panasonic has been showing off its recently introduced and new solar products &#8211; including an AC solar panel\u00a0 featuring Enphase microinverter technology.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Back in February, Panasonic and Enphase Energy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/enphase-panasonic-ac-solar-mb0463\/\">announced a partnership<\/a> that would see Enphase\u2019s IQ 7X Micro microinverters<sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/panasonic-ac-solar-panel-mb0761\/#en-24549-1' id='enref-24549-1' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(24549)'>1<\/a><\/sup> combined with Panasonic HIT solar panels.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, Panasonic Eco Solutions of North America unveiled the AC Module (ACM) at Solar Power International 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The N330E HIT AC solar panel has an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/enphase-review.html\">Enphase microinverter<\/a> integrated on the back of the module, doing away with the need for a central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/\">solar inverter<\/a> and providing more system design flexibility, redundancy, the ability for panel level monitoring and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/micro\/\">other benefits<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The integrated Enphase microinverter is field-replaceable, removing the need to replace the entire solar module and yielding operation and maintenance costs savings that maximize return on investment (ROI) for homeowners,&#8221; says Panasonic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The N330E HIT AC Series consists of one model at this point, a 330W module offering 19.70% efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Further information on the N330E HIT AC <a href=\"https:\/\/na.panasonic.com\/us\/energy-solutions\/solar\/ac-series-ac-module\/n330e-hitr-ac-series-enphase-iq-7x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be viewed here<\/a>.\u00a0 Panasonic says it expects the module to be available in the U.S. in early 2019, but didn&#8217;t mention availability in Australia.<\/p>\n<h2>HIT S Series Smart Module<\/h2>\n<p>Another new Panasonic product to feature <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-panel-optimisation\/\">panel level optimisation<\/a> (PLO) is the recently introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/na.panasonic.com\/us\/energy-solutions\/solar\/s-series-smart-modules\/n330g-hitr-s-series-optimized-solaredge\"> HIT S Series Smart Module<\/a>, which features a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/solaredge-review.html\">SolarEdge<\/a> Optimizer. The SolarEdge power optimizer is a DC\/DC converter that boosts energy output by continually tracking the maximum power point (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/glossary.html#mppt\">MPPT<\/a>) of each panel and also enables panel level monitoring.<\/p>\n<h2>Other New HIT Modules<\/h2>\n<p>Panasonic also introduced the N340\/N335 HIT+ Series with 20.3\/20% module efficiency, and the N335K\/N330K HIT+ BLACK Series with 20\/19.7% efficiency. These panels feature a 40mm frame for increased strength and\u00a0 a new water drainage system.<\/p>\n<h2>Harbor Plus Smart Battery<\/h2>\n<p>Also being demonstrated at SPI 2018 is Panasonic&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/na.panasonic.com\/us\/energy-solutions\/battery-storage\/battery-storage\/harbor-plustm-smart-battery-storage-system\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harbor Plus Smart Battery<\/a>, a home energy storage solution boasting 17.1 kilowatt-hours usable capacity (total capacity 20.3 kWh)\u00a0 and real power output of up to 10 kilowatts (5 minutes &#8211;
