Some of this heightened sense of urgency may have had to do with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-subsidy-2019-mb0827\/\">solar subsidy scare tactics<\/a> used by some retailers in relation to the national scheme and fear of missing out on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/victorian-solar-rebate.html\"> Victoria&#8217;s Home Solar Package<\/a>. Overall, 86% of Australians using our service wanted a system installed within 3 months.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-purchase-intent.png\" alt=\"Solar purchase intent November 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-purchase-intent.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-purchase-intent-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Price And Quality Preferences<\/h2>\n<p>A touch over 80% were interested in a system that was \u201ca good mix of quality and price\u201d.\u00a0 As in October and September, 12%\u00a0 indicated\u00a0 a preference for a \u201ctop quality (most expensive)\u201d system. Those wanting a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/budget-solar-buying-tips\/\">good budget system<\/a>\u201d represented approximately 7%, same as October.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26312\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/price-quality-views.png\" alt=\"PV system price and quality - November 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/price-quality-views.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/price-quality-views-300x193.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Battery Ready Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>Not much has changed here (again) &#8211; battery-ready system interest in November was 30%, a figure that has seen little movement in the last 6 months. Just about all solar power systems\u00a0 are \u201cbattery-ready\u201d to some degree, but this question is presented in our quotes request process to help inform\u00a0 system design.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26310\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/battery-ready-system.png\" alt=\"Battery Ready Solar Interest - November 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/battery-ready-system.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/battery-ready-system-300x183.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Concurrent Solar + Storage Installation<\/h2>\n<p>The proportion of Australians wanting to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/battery-storage\/comparison-table\/\">battery storage<\/a>\u00a0installed from the get-go along with their PV system was around 9% (9% in October, 8% in September and 7% in August).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26317\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-storage-interest.png\" alt=\"Concurrent solar + battery storage installation - November 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-storage-interest.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-storage-interest-300x188.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lack of movement was interesting given <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/sa-home-battery-subsidy-mb0736\/\">South Australia\u2019s Home Battery Scheme<\/a>, which also offers low interest loans to assist with a new solar + storage installation, was in effect during November. However, choice of battery systems is very limited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/sa-battery-scheme-savings-mb0803\/\">until the New Year<\/a> and only approved system providers can supply and install systems.\u00a0 Queensland is also offering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/qld-battery-subsidy-update-mb0846\/\">solar + storage support<\/a>, but the scheme is limited in terms of numbers of packages available, batteries that are eligible and the companies that can install the systems.<\/p>\n<h2>Battery Size Choice<\/h2>\n<p>Big capacity battery systems (10kWh+) gained ground among those who has a size in mind to reach just under 35%; quite a jump from October (30%).\u00a0 As in October, 55% of submitters weren\u2019t sure on system size.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26314\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-batteries-size.png\" alt=\"Battery capacity preference November 2018\" width=\"700\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-batteries-size.png 700w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/solar-batteries-size-300x189.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Intended Battery Application<\/h2>\n<p>Just over 3% were wanting a home battery primarily for backup applications. This figure is yet to shift either side of the 2 &#8211; 4% range since we started the auSSII.
