There&#8217;s certainly been a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/ev\/solar-electric-cars\/\">interest in electric vehicles from owners of solar power systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The NSW Electric And Hybrid Vehicle Plan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.future.transport.nsw.gov.au\/sites\/default\/files\/media\/documents\/2019\/Future%20Transport%20NSW%20Electric%20&amp;%20Hybrid%20vehicle%20plan.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can be downloaded here<\/a> (PDF).<\/p>\n<h2>The Election Cometh<\/h2>\n<p>Key to many of the Berejiklian Government EV\/hybrid vehicle commitments occurring is it surviving the next election, to be held on Saturday, March 23.<\/p>\n<p>The NSW Government has been pretty keen of late to demonstrate some green energy related street cred and to somewhat distance itself from its Federal counterparts in this regard. In the leadup to end of last year, a flurry of large-scale solar energy development applications were approved, including those for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/narrabri-south-solar-mb0882\/\">Narrabri South<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/yarrabee-solar-farm-mb0880\/\">Yarrabee<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/nsw-solar-energy-mb0871\/\">Mulwala<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/nsw-solar-energy-mb0871\/\">Gregadoo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/darlington-point-solar-farm-mb0862\/\">Darlington Point<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/suntop-solar-farm-mb0864\/\">Suntop 1<\/a> solar farms.<\/p>\n<p>Also on Monday, the NSW Government released its five-year <a href=\"http:\/\/www.future.transport.nsw.gov.au\/automatedvehiclesplan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plan for autonomous vehicles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Vehicles in the future will not only be electric but automated, so we need to jointly consider these technological advances that will deliver safer, more accessible and convenient transport options.\u201d said Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Melinda Pavey.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Also announced was the first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.busnews.com.au\/industry-news\/1901\/yutong-electric-bus-stars-at-nsw-govt-e-bus-launch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian trial of Yutong\u2019s new electric bus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese company was founded over 50 years ago and claims to be the world\u2019s biggest manufacturer of medium and large buses; building more than 400 vehicles each day (all buses, not just electric). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yutong.com\">Yutong<\/a> says it built its first electric bus in 1999.
