The pods can then be folded up, detached from the roof and lifted by a crane onto a truck for installation at another site.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29540\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/solpod-detachable-panels.jpg\" alt=\"Solpod detachable mounting system\" width=\"800\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/solpod-detachable-panels.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/solpod-detachable-panels-300x142.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/solpod-detachable-panels-768x364.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This enables commercial property owners to invest in a 20-year asset (solar systems) while mitigating the risk of 5-year commercial leases,&#8221; says Solpod.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For businesses renting premises, Solpod says it can offer short-term contracts to match lease terms.<\/p>\n<p>Solpod has teamed up with ERM Power on a $5 million project that will see its systems deployed at 25 sites across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland; collectively representing close to 2.5 MW capacity. 100kW systems have already been installed at sites including Highpoint Shopping Centre, Norton Plaza, a Marley Spoon warehouse, Parkmore Shopping Centre and on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/inverters\/fronius-review.html\">Fronius<\/a> warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>ARENA is supporting the start-up, committing $975,000 towards the project under its <a href=\"https:\/\/arena.gov.au\/funding\/programs\/advancing-renewables-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Advancing Renewables program<\/a>. The program supports development, demonstration and pre-commercial deployment projects that ARENA\u00a0 believes will deliver affordable and reliable renewable energy for Australian households and businesses.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This Australian start up will help to accelerate solar PV innovation and allows for renewable energy alternatives in niche markets, providing a cost-competitive alternative to standard methods of fixed mounting for delivering rooftop grid connected solar PV,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/arena.gov.au\/news\/redeployable-solar-to-be-trialled-on-shopping-centres\/\">said<\/a> ARENA CEO Darren Miller.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Solpod&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solpod.com.au\/about-us\/\">management team<\/a> includes a couple of the co-founders and other familiar faces from solar retailer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/installer-review\/energy-matters\/\">Energy Matters<\/a>.
