The worst review was for an installation that resulted in a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) order against the installer.<\/p>\n<p>The best review was from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/installer-review\/solarpro\/\"> SolarPro<\/a> customer who is very pleased with his solar and battery installation a year after it was installed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=90bTY9YtVuc&amp;t=860s\">14:20<\/a> &#8211; The Victorian Government has had a change of heart with regard to households claiming a Solar Homes Package rebate, but who didn&#8217;t follow the process correctly before the program was recently paused. Many who installed solar power systems prior to receiving an eligibility number <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/victoria-solar-rebate-applications-mb1065\/\"> will now receive their rebate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=90bTY9YtVuc&amp;t=1020s\">17:00<\/a> &#8211; Ronald and Finn discuss <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/rec-alpha-series-panels-mb1066\/\"> REC&#8217;s new Alpha Series solar panels<\/a>, offering up to 380 watts power in a 60-cell panel, the type commonly used on residential rooftops. The REC promotional video cops some ribbing from the pair, but Finn thinks the Alpha Series looks like a good panel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=90bTY9YtVuc&amp;t=1192s\">19:52<\/a> &#8211; Ronald chats about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/energy-tech-consumer-code-submission\/\">his submission<\/a> concerning the draft New Energy Tech Consumer Code. The submission was swear-word free, unlike his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/energy-tech-consumer-code\/\"> original post on the topic<\/a>. Aside from the lack of consumer protection and issues concerning batteries, Ronald found some of the draft Code&#8217;s wording unethical.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Because they were implying that people who didn&#8217;t sign up to the code weren&#8217;t interested in providing quality installations or consumer protection&#8221;, he says. &#8220;Just because people don&#8217;t want to join your club, it doesn&#8217;t mean they aren&#8217;t good people.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Finn thinks while the motivation of the people writing the Code may have been well-meaning,\u00a0 they may not have gotten their head around why some may not want to sign on.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Assuming that someone else shares exactly your values, down to the detail of a 20-page code of conduct or whatever it is, is incredibly arrogant I think&#8221;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ronald covers the 3 main points in his submission &#8211; including the thorny issue of blended payback commonly used in selling solar power + battery systems.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/90bTY9YtVuc?t=1736\">28:56<\/a> &#8211;
