{"id":32595,"date":"2019-08-07T07:09:30","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T20:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/?p=32595"},"modified":"2019-08-07T07:09:30","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T20:39:30","slug":"csun-solar-panel-delisting-mb1163","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/csun-solar-panel-delisting-mb1163\/","title":{"rendered":"CEC De-Lists China Sunergy CSUN Solar Panels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-32597\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/csun-panel-delisting-1024x538.jpg\" alt=\"China Sunergy CSUN solar panels\" width=\"1024\" height=\"538\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/csun-panel-delisting-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/csun-panel-delisting-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/csun-panel-delisting-768x403.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/csun-panel-delisting.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Clean Energy Council has announced all China Sunergy (Nanjing) Co Ltd (CSUN) solar panels are no longer approved for installation under Australia&#8217;s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In order to be eligible for Australia\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/rebate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">solar rebate<\/a>\u201c, panels must be approved by the Clean Energy Council (CEC) and present on its approved modules list at the time of installation.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CEC, CSUN panels fell afoul of conformance due to the use of cells and connectors outside the scope of the certificate; issues that became apparent in the CEC&#8217;s latest round of testing.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The panels also used serial numbers that do not conform to formats supplied to the CEC and do not allow identification of the place of manufacture,&#8221; stated the CEC in a recent member update. &#8220;The connectors used differ from those advised on the datasheet, leading to potential safety issues with mismatched connectors at the time of installation.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>China Sunergy solar panels approved for use just prior to the CEC&#8217;s action were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CSUN270-60P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN275-60P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN265-60P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN330-72P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN300-60M<\/li>\n<li>CSUN305-60M<\/li>\n<li>CSUN325-72P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN335-72P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN340-72P<\/li>\n<li>CSUN340-72M<\/li>\n<li>CSUN345-72M<\/li>\n<li>CSUN350-72M<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De-listing isn&#8217;t always a one-way trip to hell with no hope of redemption. Measures can be taken by a manufacturer in order to get back on the list. In China Sunergy&#8217;s case, this includes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Assessment and certification of the component, a special factory inspection and report by the certifier and other corrective actions are required before the modules can be re-listed by the CEC.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>China Sunergy Co., Ltd. was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Nanjing, China. The company has 7 production facilities worldwide and produces standard poly, mono, half-cell and bifacial modules. You can read more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/csun-review.html\">CSUN solar panels and China Sunergy here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Not All De-Listings Are Equal<\/h2>\n<p>A solar panel that is no longer on the Clean Energy Council&#8217;s approved list isn&#8217;t necessarily problematic in operation, nor will it suddenly stop working through being struck off. There are also other reasons a module may be de-listed that have nothing to do with non-conformance. For example, in some instances a manufacturer may have decided to no longer supply a certain module model into Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Where a de-listing has occurred, the reason (if available) should be noted and if you have concerns, contact your installer for further details.<\/p>\n<p>If a product has been de-listed due to a potentially severe operational safety issue, a recall action may be subsequently initiated; details of which can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.productsafety.gov.au\/recalls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Product Safety Australia<\/a>. Issues with solar panels and inverters requiring a recall action in Australia have been rare.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the CEC&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au\/industry\/products\/modules\/approved-modules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">approved modules list<\/a> includes 3,150 products from 77 manufacturers. The approved solar inverter list, which currently has 1,296 products from 99 manufacturers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au\/industry\/products\/inverters\/approved-inverters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">can be found here<\/a>.
