Here&#8217;s what the back of one of those looks like, which shows the integrated Enphase IQ 6+.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-33758 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/lg-neon-ace.jpg\" alt=\"LG NeON 2 ACe AC solar panel\" width=\"459\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/lg-neon-ace.jpg 459w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/lg-neon-ace-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These panels aren&#8217;t available in in Australia &#8211; but perhaps LG&#8217;s new AC solar panel, the LG NeON R ACe, will be.<\/p>\n<p>The LG NeON R ACe is based on the NeON R<sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/lg-neon-r-ace-mb1226\/#en-33757-1' id='enref-33757-1' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(33757)'>1<\/a><\/sup> and has a different microinverter. LG hasn&#8217;t said a lot about it, only that it was &#8220;designed by LG Electronics&#8221; &#8211; so it isn&#8217;t necessarily produced by the company.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the specs of the LG NeON R ACe:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wattages: 370W | 375W | 380W<\/li>\n<li>Cell type: Monocrystalline\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/p-type-and-n-type-solar-cells-excellent-electron-adventure\/\">N-type<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Dimensions: 1,700 x 1,016 x 40 mm<\/li>\n<li>Weight: 19kg<\/li>\n<li>Temperature coefficient of Pmax<sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/lg-neon-r-ace-mb1226\/#en-33757-2' id='enref-33757-2' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(33757)'>2<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0 -0.3%\/\u00b0C<\/li>\n<li>Module efficiency (DC): 21.4% (370W), 21.7% (375W) and 22.0% (380W).<\/li>\n<li>CEC Weighted Efficiency (AC): 97.0% @240VAC, 96.5% @208VAC<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lg.com\/us\/business\/solar-panel\/solar\/files\/resources\/LG370-380A1C-V5_PRE_FinalVer_083019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Full datasheet here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>&#8220;Multi-Hop Technology&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>The NeON R ACe works with LG&#8217;s app-based monitoring platform called EnerVu. LG says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;By adopting advanced communication technology, the LG NeON R ACe is easy to commission and monitor compared to traditional micro-inverter and power optimizer solutions.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>LG says the way the NeON R ACe system works with the EnerVu gateway box (which looks a little like a router) differs from other gateways in that each NeON R ACe solar panel can communicate with the one next to it. When data is passed to the gateway, it comes from one module &#8211; i.e. the gateway only needs to communicate with the closest solar panel. This provides flexibility in gateway positioning and means it can be placed inside the home.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hj5Somjc_p4?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-AU&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>LG says the system is\u00a0 &#8220;future proof&#8221;, enabling connection to various systems including smart appliances.<\/p>\n<p>The NeON R ACe 25-year warranty for products, parts and performance<sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/lg-neon-r-ace-mb1226\/#en-33757-3' id='enref-33757-3' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(33757)'>3<\/a><\/sup> applies to both the solar panel and the microinverter. The panels will be available to U.S. homeowners later this year &#8211; but no word yet as to when\/if the NeON R ACe will be available in Australia, or indicative pricing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Added note October 1, 2019<\/strong>: Apparently, there\u2019s an Australian standard indicating micro-inverters can&#8217;t be used on solar panels with a capacity of more than 350 watts.
