Read on.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Clean Energy Council&#8217;s Enhanced Listings Program for solar panels has grown significantly since July last year, with modules from 20 companies now included.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The program differentiates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/\"> solar panels<\/a> that have passed independent testing exceeding minimum standards required to be included on the CEC\u2019s Approved Product List<sup class='endnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-panels-cec-mb1273\/#en-34581-1' id='enref-34581-1' onclick='return hhEndnotes_show(34581)'>1<\/a><\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The eight Enhanced Listings categories are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vde.com\/en\">VDE<\/a> Quality Tested<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/webstore.iec.ch\/publication\/24096\">IEC TS 62941<\/a> &#8211; an extension of the IEC 9001 quality standard<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pvel.com\/\">PVEL<\/a> PQP (Product Qualification Program of PV Evolution Laboratories)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/webstore.iec.ch\/publication\/5728\">IEC 61701<\/a> Salt mist corrosion resistance.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/webstore.iec.ch\/publication\/7392\">IEC 62716<\/a> Ammonia corrosion resistance &#8211; <span class=\"st\">modules installed on farm buildings can be exposed to high<\/span><span class=\"st\"> levels of ammonia (hence the cow icon above).<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Module Accelerated Sequential Test (MAST) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-panel-backsheet-defects\/\"> Backsheet Durability<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/webstore.iec.ch\/publication\/23071\">IEC TS 62804<\/a> PID (Potential-Induced Degradation) Resistance<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jcu.edu.au\/cyclone-testing-station\">JCU<\/a> Cyclone Testing, which goes beyond what is required for the Northern Territory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can learn a bit more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au\/industry\/products\/modules\/enhanced-listings\">about the categories here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the total number of PV modules on the CEC\u2019s Approved Product List is 3,685. Of those, 901 products from 20 manufacturers have at least one Enhanced Listing &#8211; so around 24%.<\/p>\n<p>But which panels boast all of those additional certifications? That&#8217;s a bit hard to tell given when you start ticking categories on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au\/industry\/products\/modules\/approved-modules\">approved solar modules database search page<\/a>, the filter works on OR rather than AND &#8211; but it turns out\u00a0 none of them do yet.<\/p>\n<p>The Enhanced Listings category with the least number of solar panels is the IEC 62941 quality standard category &#8211; just 20 products at the time of writing and all of those from one manufacturer &#8211; Wuxi Suntech.<\/p>\n<h2>Additional Reassurance<\/h2>\n<p>The Enhance Listings help bring a bit of extra reassurance to Australian solar buyers &#8211; for example, salt mist corrosion resistance is a particularly important one for those living on the coast.<\/p>\n<p>The current CEC Approved Products list for solar panels in general has trimmed down significantly in comparison to years gone by.
