{"id":57383,"date":"2021-12-29T07:03:59","date_gmt":"2021-12-28T20:33:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/?p=57383"},"modified":"2021-12-29T07:03:59","modified_gmt":"2021-12-28T20:33:59","slug":"risen-solar-manufacturing-generation-mb2294","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/risen-solar-manufacturing-generation-mb2294\/","title":{"rendered":"Risen Plans Massive Solar Manufacturing And Generation Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-57384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/risen-solar-project.jpg\" alt=\"Risen Energy solar project\" width=\"1200\" height=\"654\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/risen-solar-project.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/risen-solar-project-300x164.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/risen-solar-project-1024x558.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/risen-solar-project-768x419.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Risen Energy has its sights set on developing a huge vertically integrated solar manufacturing project in China accompanied by a major solar, wind and energy storage facility to help power it all &#8211; and then some.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/data.p5w.net\/t1212032590.html\">announcement<\/a> to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange earlier this week, Risen Energy said it had signed an Investment Framework Agreement with the Government of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia for the vertically integrated &#8220;demonstration project&#8221; combining solar manufacturing and renewables-based electricity generation.<\/p>\n<p>The manufacturing side of the project involves annual production capacities of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200,000 tonnes of silicon &#8220;metal&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>150,000 tonnes of polysilicon<\/li>\n<li>10 GW of solar cells<\/li>\n<li>3 GW of solar panels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The electricity generation aspect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3.5 GW of solar power<\/li>\n<li>1.6 GW of wind capacity<\/li>\n<li>Energy storage (capacity and type not mentioned)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The total investment for the project is initially estimated to be 44.65 billion yuan, which is around AUD $9.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The polysilicon aspect alone is potentially very good news; adding to a bunch of new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/blog\/solar-polysilicon-prices-mb2287\/\">polysilicon production capacity<\/a> recently brought online and in the pipeline that will help to reduce the price of sought-after material.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s early days for this project, with various hurdles yet to be cleared.<\/p>\n<h2>New HJT Conversion Efficiency Record<\/h2>\n<p>In other recent news from the company, Risen Energy announced last week testing and certification organization T\u00dcV Rheinland confirmed Risen&#8217;s heterojunction (HJT) module series have achieved a maximum power of 721.016W and a module efficiency of 23.65 percent. This bettered the company record of 23.08 percent set in July this year.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;As a leader in heterojunction (HJT) technology, Risen Energy has broken its own HJT world record three times in one year, constantly challenging limits and achieving new innovations in technology,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.co.uk\/news-releases\/risen-energy-hits-new-record-of-23-65-in-heterojunction-module-efficiency-835918238.html\">stated the company<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>HJT cell technology involves crystalline silicon cells with thin layers of amorphous thin-film silicon above and below them.<\/p>\n<p>As far as I know, the world record for a HJT cell (not panel) is currently held by another major Chinese PV manufacturer: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/longi-solar-review.html\">Longi<\/a> &#8211; 25.82%<\/p>\n<p>The Risen panel wasn&#8217;t named, but at that wattage it&#8217;s assumed to be part of the new NewT@N series originally unveiled at SNEC 2021 in June and doesn&#8217;t appear to be in full production yet. As well as being big on power, the NewT@N series is big on size and weight &#8211; 2,384 x 1,303 x 35 mm \/ 35 kg &#8211; and has been developed for the commercial and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/panels\/risen-review.html\">Risen Energy solar panels<\/a> targeting the residential market have been pretty popular in Australia. While the company has been a SolarQuotes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarquotes.com.au\/solar101.html#panelchart\">recommended brand<\/a> in the past, it isn\u2019t currently listed due to some customer service\/warranty related concerns.<\/p>\n<p>As well as manufacturing solar panels, the company also has a track record for building and operating solar farms. Here in Australia, there&#8217;s the 100MW Merredin Solar Farm in Western Australia and the 103MW Yarranlea Solar Farm in Queensland.
