Ahlec Solar is a family owned business based on the Sunshine coast that has been installing Solar PV across Queensland since 2010.
- We do not use sub-contractors, with all of our installations carried out by our own in house electricians.
- We are licensed electrical contractors which means that we can and do employ our own teams of installers to carry out the work.
- The whole process is carried out in house from a site visit to explain how Solar PV will work for you right through to completion of the Solar system installation as well as a post installation follow up service.
- As Solar installers we have carried out many thousands of Solar PV installations which is why we really understand Solar PV.
- We supply Solar PV systems which are grid connected and we also supply off grid solar systems with batteries for the more remote situations.

A very well organised business
With my Inverter not working but still under warranty, I had to find an Installer who could guide me through the process of acquiring a replacement... I was given by the makers 3 installers in my area but not one would or could assist... I found Ahlec Solar advertised on the Web as a family business... I rang them and was asked to provide details of make , model . Later that day Amy from Administration said I have contacted makers and here is your case number, then next week it was delivered and fitted by their competent Installers, monitoring was set up . My wife and I recently had a home solar/battery system installed by Ahlec. The whole process ran smoothly from start to finish. At the initial consultation Austin was very attentive to our needs and clearly explained the various options. We did not feel as if he was trying to sell us the biggest or most expensive system but rather that which suited our needs best. Once we decided to go with Ahlec we were kept informed of the progress at each step by Amy in the office. Despite less than perfect weather on the day of installation, Alex and his team of installers worked cheerfully and industriously to complete the job and Sam subsequently liaised well with our provider to complete the meter installation and configuration and grid connection. The system is now up and running as expected. Based on our experience, we can only praise the whole team and would wholeheartedly recommend Ahlec to anyone considering them for their own installation.11 March 2024

We were recommended to Ahlec by our property manager who has had solar installs done for a few properties on the Sunshine Coast. Ahlec were prompt in quotes, offered great value for money and were amazing with the customer service for the installation. An absolute breeze for us as landlords living away from the property. The frequent updates from Amy, Sam and Andy as well as the honest advice was much appreciated and the 'extra mile' given was fantastic. The install team noticed a few tiles were cracked and replaced them with no issues. The install is clean and tidy with extra thought given to the 'look' of the panel placement and the inverter placement - which was going to be a bit 'harder' but ultimately in the spot we wanted - future proofed for battery install at a later date. Overall highly recommend and thanks to the Ahlec team for a job well done!07 March 2024
Prompt, reliable and friendly installer!
The salesperson was fast to respond, came to see the job location, provided a couple of quotes, he was willing to make changes and provided plenty of advice. He was very knowledgeable and always followed up my enquiries promptly. The installation crew had enough people, they were polite, tidy and punctual. They made sure everything was working before they left and explained what to do next and who to contact if in need. First class service on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, from Ahlec
Ahlec, to my understanding, is a small, family run business who pride themselves on providing quality systems and service. They were recommended to me by a friend who'd needed a non-standard system design, and he felt they had done an excellent job. Indeed, they were the only local providers who could/would offer a solution.We wanted to extend our existing solar system by adding more panels and a battery. Austin, the sales and quotation manager, spent quite some time with us working out the optimal arrangement given what already existed, our usage, and the various roof spaces available. We went through quite a few possibilities and I know he went and discussed them further with a colleague. He was nothing but thorough and was more than happy and able to answer quite detailed questions both during the consultation and by phone and e-mail afterwards.
Installation, which given the size of the job took two days, was professional, courteous and extremely tidy. Ahlec's installers went out of their way to arrange the battery and inverters to take up the least space in our garage. We have three-phase power so some thought was put into ensuring that the various circuits were put onto appropriate phases to minimise issues for potential draw from the grid. Every one we spoke to, Austin, Alex, Sam and Andy were happy to discuss all aspects of the installation and provide clear technical information, as well as enthusiastically discussing some of the tweaks they were trying on the systems installed in their own homes.
The installers broke five tiles during the job (almost unavoidable as our tiles are incredibly fragile); they replaced these as well as five other broken tiles they found on the roof. They also relocated two whirly birds and appear to have done a good job. At the end of the day they gave a thorough explanation of what they had done as well as providing clear diagrams of any new wiring etc.
Communication before and after installation was excellent. Post installation, we had a few problems with the connection between the Fronius inverters and the monitoring software. E-mails were answered promptly and issues were escalated to the correct person who responded quickly. Ahlec contacted Fronius and returned multiple times until everything worked perfectly.
It is my understanding that the sales/quotation manager will revisit us three months after the installation to go over the performance of the system etc.
I'm extremely happy with the service Ahlec provided, and can recommend them unreservedly. It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with them.
The only thing I can fault them on? The base of the bollard to protect the battery isn't quite parallel to the garage wall. My OCD will get over it eventually...maybe.

Professional installation preforming beautifully
SolarQuotes provided recommendations for two installers in my local area and received prompt replies from both companies.Alec Solar on the Sunshine coast were very helpful to my many questions and were able to supply a system to replace my original 15 year old one. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Very professional
The quoting process was very clear and incredibly helpful. Questions were always welcomed and the staff informative.Installation was efficiently and professionally executed. Alot of pride was taken in their work, and they made sure you were completely happy and comfortable with the work done prior to leaving.

Value for Money
Ahlec have been wonderful from start to finish. The quotes were received in a timely fashion with a number of options provided on sizing and hardware suppliers. After plenty of discussion with the very patient Ahlec Rep I went for the Sungrow hybrid inverter and battery set-up, mainly for continuity of hardware and supplier support located in Australia. Selected panels were the 440W Jinko Tiger N-types.Once signed up, Ahlec did all the work with organising grid connections, providing technical data, warranty certificates and photos of the completed work. The install team were brilliant - they turned up on the scheduled date and the whole system was up and running by the end of the day. No mean feat as they had to remove the existing system first and contend with a very cramped house switchboard. The whole team were very respectful of our home and gardens and followed any access requests we had. On completion they removed all the packaging, off-cuts and redundant components of the original system and left the work sites in a tidy manner.
After the install they provided an informative tracking App already populated with the system components which provides helpful information on current performance, power flows and full production history.
Really, the whole process couldn't have been easier and provided at the most competitive price.

Highly recommended Solar Providers
The Team are Ahlec Solar were fantastic from start to finish with our solar installation.After buying a house with less than compliant solar, and organising a different company to come out to clean the solar (not knowing it was not compliant, not working very well & a fire hazard). This other company cleaned my solar, charged me and then after the fact told me the system was broken!
I decided to contact Ahlec Solar as someone recommended them to me. They attended, looked over everything and provided us with so much valuable information & their recommendations. I instantly had trust in them and was confident with what they were advising. The process from start to finish was fantastic, they looked after everything, the Team were on time, communication was great, & they were all very knowledgable & professional.
Thanks Ahlec Team and I will highly recommend you to anyone who is looking at Solar!!!

Ahlec went above and Beyond.
We spent significant time taking advice on what became a fairly complicated design process to suit our property. Ahlec's sales team were excellent, taking the time to discuss options and explaining how and why, so we were able to make the best design choices with confidence.The install was in two stages and involved removing an older solar system. The installation team were punctual, efficient, tidy and a pleasure to talk to.
The system seems to be working extremely well, and we will be meeting with Austin from the design team in about a month to discuss the performance that is all recorded through the App and decide if the size of our battery system is optimal.
We are very impressed with all parts of Ahlec's performance and would highly recommend them.

Fantastic customer service and a quality installation.
The sales/quote process was quick and easy. Austin visited the site and was clear and objective in his advice around options for location of the solar panels and the advantages and/or disadvantages of batteries and single phase or three phase installation.The team that installed the system were on time, professional, polite and very efficient. the whole system was completed in one day and there was no mess left behind. They explained the functionality of the installed system and the associated apps which are a great tool for understanding our power usage.
The customer service was excellent from the initial phone call acknowledging my request for a quote to the switching on of the installed system. Ahlec organised everything including the grid connection post install. Once we receive our first post installation electicity bill a member of the Ahlec team will drop by again and go through the bill with us to indicate how the system has performed for us which I think is a fantastic after sales initiative. A great experience overall.

Great installer to deal with

First rate
Sales process was prompt and informative. Collected all information which enabled us to decide what size system and which brands would suit us best. Competitive pricing. Proceeded with arranging installation of panels while we made up our mind about whether to have a battery and what size.Installers arrived when they said they would, confirmed layout of panels and removal of old system, confirmed installation of inverters and battery in our preferred location. Arranged for conduit to match previous colours. Very neat design with very good attention to detail. Rewired fuse box to accommodate new equipment, installed catch solar to power our pool heater, and carefully checked the circuits for battery backup of main power outage. Got the job finished in one day and cleaned up so all rubbish removed from site.
All paperwork done and links to software provided. Quick to follow up using remote connection when heavy clouds caused low solar power for a few hours on first day.
In short Ahlec knew their stuff, arranged everything meticulously and anticipated all of my questions. All at a competitive price.

Highly recommend Ahlec!
After many hours of reading, & speaking to several solar installers, I chose Ahlec, & am very happy with all aspects of the process. My (many!) questions were answered, quotation & advice were clearly explained, & presented for easy review. The installation team was punctual, polite, friendly, tidy, & happy to answer any questions. Any emails I sent were promptly answered, & a follow-up visit ensured I understood the app.

Great job installing our 13.2 solar system
Easy review to write.Austin from Ahlec offered us the most interesting combination of parts and helped us figure what specs would be optimal for our requirements.
- 13.2 kW in total of Jinko panels
- One 5 kW regular Sungrow inverter
- One 5 kW hybrid Sungrow inverter (for when battery prices go down or electricity rates go up)
- Catch power relay to control our hot water tank (great bit of kit!).
Our roof is a mix and match of angles, so the installers had to spread out the panels over different levels but they still got everything done one day! They only had to disconnect the power for an hour (I work from home, so I could work just like normal for most of the day) and on top of that they were friendly and answered all the questions that I bothered them with during the install. Kudos.
The system has been running flawlessly for four days now and we love that we went from buying ~22 kWh per day to just ~4 (the amount we supply back to the grid more than covers the costs of this remainder).

Great installation - great group of people!
Very happy with the whole process by a company who seem to care about their customers!They took care of everything, including Energex authorities, installation (discussed and done as said), connection to grid and all paperwork lodged. All the crew where polite and friendly, on time and they left the area tidy.
Ahlec have been great to work with; we have appreciated their follow up assistance so much that this is the second solar job we have trusted them with!

Fantastic company to work with!!! Excellent from start to finish!!!
Austin was knowledgeable and helpful throughout the quoting phase of this project. He never tried to push the larger systems and instead looked very closely at our daily power usage vs. which system(s) would best serve our needs.The installation process went smoothly from start to finish. Sam and his team were extremely skilled and detail oriented in their approach to the installation of our solar system. They left the work site spotless and gave a very clear explanation of what steps in the process would follow in the coming days.
Amy, from the office, was quick to provide the documents and instructions on what needed to be done regarding our power provider to get the new digital meter installed, switch our plan over to a solar plan, etc.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ahlec Solar to other people in the area. They were top notch from start to finish!!!

I was very happy with the service from Ahlec. The quote was competitive and Austin explained the process clearly and gave prompt responses to any further questions by email. Good system, but install was different to quote
We’ve got a good system and the service was excellent. We were however quite disappointed when the sales rep said we’d be getting the new 440w panels but when the installation happened only 415w panels were installed. Still charged the same. The owner explained that the new panels weren’t in the country yet so the sales rep gave us wrong info. Ultimately all they could do was apologise. Also, when install happened they couldn’t fit enough panels on our north roof so all ended up east/west which isn’t what we thought we were getting - but this couldn’t be helped as it’s due to the dimensions of our roof. Also the sales guy said they’d put the inverter under our back patio but the installers insisted it should go on the southern external wall next to the electricity box. Just a lot of disparity between what the sales rep sold us on, versus what was delivered. Everyone was really nice about it all, still disappointing though.Inverter rating: 5/5

What a great experience
Professional service from first contact with Austin, all the way through to installation and after sale. Could not fault the team.I must have sought around 8 quotes and most came back with variations of the same system but it was the communication and superior service that set Ahlec apart.
Unbeatable price, install and service. Love the addition of the Catch Power relay too, so did my neighbour who had one installed on the same day as mine after I told him about it!
