Better Call Solar

We were founded under the simple idea of seeing your Solar system as a means to provide an ongoing service instead of a one-time transaction. Our founder Rhys Winn had worked for a couple of other Solar businesses prior to establishing Better Call Solar and was frustrated with the lack of post-install accountability for results. With time to think during the initial 2020 lockdown, Rhys founded the company and after a slow start given the timing, we have now completed many high quality installs ranging from Dubbo to Dee Why.


At the end of the day, if you’ve made it this far into your Solar research phase – in that you’re reading company bio’s on a vetted page like SolarQuotes – you clearly aren’t looking for the ‘hot offer’ provided by the Cowboy companies. Smart move – pay peanuts, get monkeys. At this point you’re simply after someone you can trust to help you achieve your goals with this investment. Most Solar systems vetted by this page will be installed well, use reputable products and will certainly save you money off your electricity bill, but as a client of Better Call Solar we go beyond the bare minimum to ensure you have the most holistic experience in the industry. 3. Communication at all stages of the process will be a 6-star experience  
- 24/7 access to the entire company via a personalised WhatsApp group  

4. You will save more money due to our post-install Account Management processes  
- Incorporating the Solar Analytics monitoring data, we provide quarterly recommendations on consumption habits based on what other clients with the same array are finding effective, aswell as ongoing rate analysis to ensure you’re on the best plan for your situation.
- Given the ever-changing nature of the current wholesale energy market, our clients are finding by simply being on the right tariff for their system that they’re better off by a further $600 - $1000 per year.

A cut above the rest

These guys stand out from the pack from start to finish. The presales information is fantastic. I didn't know what questions to ask and instead of asking if I had questions Todd provided me with links to independent websites and videos which answered all the questions I didn't know I had and removed all the confusion about solar for me.

I was provided with a plan and timeline to tell me what happens and when and was kept updated at every step of the way via a group chat and the project manager directly.

The installation went so smoothly and the team onsite were friendly and polite.

The after sales support is excellent and ongoing, and again a real stand out. Ben provided excellent information about how to get the most out of the system and save money, and the real standout is the team continue to work for you and are available to get you the best deal at any time.

The One and Only Solar KIngs

stars all the way. I spent some time looking at solar and more importantly who to go with, I found Better Call Solar on solarquotes as they had great reviews for service AND installation. I called 2 local companies - the first one replied by sms that our roof had too much of an slope to it so they couldnt/ didnt want to get involved. The next company who were all over facebook saying we are the best etc came had a chat and said you will have the quote in 48 hrs (was a Friday) and I am still waiting. I rang Better call solar and spoke to Rhys and he asked me lots of questions and also invited lots of questions from me as well. Install happened couple of months later and while the install ran over 2 days - the quality of workmanship is great as we were supplied with lots of photos while they were installing to give us peace of mind- you hear/ see plenty of bad installs . A game changer is their after sales service - we send our electricity bills every qtr so they can crunch the number to see if we are on the best plan. I have just swapped plans as they recommended a better plan -just having them do this is great as there is so mucg to look for on a solar plan I really didnt know where to start. I did have an issue that I "thought" was solar related and Cameron answered very quickly ( even on Sunday night) . I couldnt be happier with better call solar- they actually do what they say they will - so many companies promise the world and cant even return a phone call or email./ These guys are the SOLAR KINGS. Call them first.

Amazing customer service and installation

The sales quoting service was clear and they spoke in plain English.
The installation was clean, prompt and incident free.
The customer service aspect of Better Call solar sets them apart from the rest, they helped with the grid install and regularly check in to validate the current market rates and recommend changes to providers when better deals are available. They are friendly, prompt and very knowledgeable.

Best Solar Company!

These guys are the real deal! Met the owner/rep Rhys at my place, after taking his advice and proceeding, Within weeks the company had all of my 38 panels installed. The job was clean and tidy! They even went above and beyond to log into my system once it was up and running to see the amount of power I was generating and subsequently shopping around for an electricity provider that suited my usage and get the most out of my solar and also to save some dough. Have recommended to family and friends already,, and if you're thinking of getting solar, you Better Call Solar!

Outstanding from beginning to end

The whole team have been great with our solar, from beginning right through to the and continuing.
During the quoting stage, Rhys was fantastic with any questions we had as we were clueless. During installation, the team were thorough, clean, tidy and very respectful of our house, their finishes and considerate of their presence - being very respectful.
Following installation, customer service hasn’t ended, you are not considered a customer to get in and then thrown to the curb to figure it all out yourself. The constant updates, checking in to ensure we are getting the maximum out of our solar with electricity companies and rates and having constant access to a group chat is great incase there are any questions or help needed is helpful.
From start to finish, we have had a great experience and can’t speak highly enough of Rhys and the team at Better Call Solar .

Great experience from beginning to end

Getting the solar panels with Better call Solar has been a really good experience. From the first contact all the team has been very friendly and always explaining us what’s involved, what’s the process, etc.
The installation team did a great job, they were all very polite and professional and completed the job within the agreed timeframes.

Great experience

Rhys, Cameron, Ben and the team from Better Call Solar have been amazing! We are 4-5 months into enjoying our beautiful and performant 10 KWh solar system and we’ve been saving massively from it and feel quite independent from increasing energy prices and the grid. Great experience all round

I contacted Get Solar Quotes before I had even settled on my new home because I was just that keen to be self-reliant electricity-wise. Rhys called and set up an appointment with me and continued to stay in touch despite my delays as he knew I was busy moving house. When it came time to proceed the whole team was really professional and the installation went off without a hitch. I now have my new smart meter and am in the black for energy, with the team helping me track the performance of my panels on a daily basis and making sure I’m getting the best value for the electricity I produce from my roof. It’s unreal!

Amazing service and Professional Instalation

The sales quoting process was detailed and easy. They customised my system to exactly what I wanted, and provided communication in a timely manner.
The lead up to the install was seamless and proffessional. They use WhatsApp to keep the entire team in the loop.
I was given all the information I requested prior to the install team arriving.
The installers arrived on time and did a very proffessional job. They even changed some minor items at my request without any issues. The team was courteous and left the site cleaner than when they arrived.
The follow up service has been awesome with the director of the company arranging a call to check on my system and to guide me through the monitoring system.

My experience with Rhys, Ben and the team at Better Call Solar has been seamless, outstanding, and reassuring from the start. Excellent communication, personalised and thorough service, tailored recommendation to suit my power needs, proper prep and engineering solution for installation and great follow up support and advice once operational. Our bills have gone from $1500/quarter to $300/quarter and that was Aug-Oct. Well worth the exercise and investment and have already referred friends who have found the same.

Amazing service!

Going to start off by saying that the Solar market can be extremely confusing. There are hundreds of companies out there, each one offering different prices, plans or solutions so it can get overwhelming.

We were recommended Better Call Solar by a family member who has had work with them done and is satisfied with everything so we decided to give them a call.

From the initial contact, to the consultation, to the installation and now the after sales service, Rhys and his team have been absolutely amazing. They take the time to understand your individual needs and treat you as a valued customer rather than just another number. They tailor a specific plan to suit your circumstances and are there every step of the way to make sure things go to plan.

Highly recommended for anything solar

Sales/quoting – Rhys was very professional and explained everything during the initial quote. We had a lot of questions and he answered them honestly and in layman's terms. He was very passionate when talking about solar systems and seemed up to date with current events.

Installation – Was pleasantly surprised with how clean the overall installation was, from start till end. The team on-site was very friendly and punctual, answered questions professionally. There was a mishap which was rectified on the spot and communicated promptly.

Customer service – If I had to sum up Better Call Solar in one word, it would be "reassuring". Everyone on the team is friendly and reply so quickly. It's very convenient to have the Whatsapp group chat for that sense of accountability. After the panels were installed, that wasn't the end of it. Follow-ups, advice on switching to a better energy provider for savings, personalised recommendations etc. It wasn't the cheapest overall, but the customer service from these guys is priceless.

There’s No One Better than Better Call Solar.

You can’t do better for service, quality and after sales support than the team at Better Call Solar. From the first contact through to installation and ongoing support 3 years later, it has been a totally pleasing experience. No hard sell, no hidden costs, no drama. The installers were equally friendly and pleasant, even to the point of cleaning up birds nests under old panels that they removed, and advising of a couple of cracked roof ridge caps they observed during the install.

In summary, I couldn’t recommend Better Call Solar more highly. Other companies can take lessons from them on customer service!

6 months on and still going strong

We had our panels installed in April and the Better Call Solar team are still really engaged with us. They provided a better provider based on our situation after just the first bill. They updated our Analytics really quickly and everything is going great.
They're really helpful and I don't think they lie whwn they say they stay in communication with you throughout. Really helpful as well with any questions you have. Can't fault this service.

Initial quote was very easy straight forward, everything was explained easy to understand what I was paying for and honest expectations Rhys was very professional and honest with great knowledge. Installation was done timely manner. The installers were very polite, tidy and friendly he even changed some roof tiles for me. It took them all day to install and they took all rubbish away with them. Customer service has been superb, the team helped with the grid connection. They have WhatsApp that I go onto if I have any questions and they reply promptly. They give advice and tell me each time I receive bill if I am better off with different provider. I am very happy with better call solar team and very highly recommend them.

Outstanding service and outcome

Rhys first door knocked me around 3 years ago and I wasn't quite ready for solar. Rhys followed up (without hassling me) over the next few years by e-mail, phone and even dropping by when he was in the area. When I signed up in early 2021 the design and installation process was efficient and professional. We now have an 11kW system very neatly installed delivering outstanding savings every day and I could not be more pleased.

Honest and professional company, best installer best quotes

Better Call solar were professional and provided a great prompt and professional service. I found then to be very informative and honest, I was informed fully throughout the process, suggestions that I made to my unit were heard and were accommodated. The install was performed by a very professional group and fully cleaned my yard and roof post install, you would never have known that they had been. They even allowed me consultation in where to place the system in the house. And not surprising they were right the solar savings are amazing, have have only had one very small electricity bill since the system was Installed. I should have installed before I did, I know why I didn't its cause this great company had not approached me, If you get a chance to speak with anyone from better Call Better Solar then listen it will change your life and the savings that I am seeing are worth it.

Unrivalled value for money & customer service

With SO many “great deals, and save now” noise in the market when it comes to solar, it is very easy to make a short sighted decision.. being such a big expense, we took our time and so glad we did!
Rhys from Better Call Solar stood out from the “rest”. From our 1st interaction, it wasn’t about the ‘sell’. He took the time to understand our needs and educate us on the way.. his model was more than just a sale, it was more focussed around helping us (the customer) to optimise every part of our solar journey - not just the panels, but our usage and managing to an optimal energy provider.. I have been in sales for most of my career and it was enlightening to see a team that is truly focussed on customer outcomes!
No, these guys aren’t the cheapest up front - they provide the best gear that will last longer than it matters, but it’s their service model that will drive far more value than the initial price!
