It is difficult to comment on the "value for money" and "quality of system" as yet. Asked me in a years time!.
Both customer service and installation were very good from the Energy Efficiency Centre. The company "felt" trustworthy from the first phone call. I talked directly to someone that I could relate to and who seemed to know their stuff, rather than a salesperson flipping through a brochure. The person I spoke to seemed to answer to all of my questions in a logical and succinct way without putting any noticeable sales pressure on me. They also discussed alternatives, which was refreshing.
In this site visit, this was the only company that actually climbed onto the roof, measured up, assessed what was possible and not possible and gave me facts rather than a glossy rundown (we have some shading issues which we discussed, and the feedback I received was more pessimistic than other companies which I liked. You felt they were not overselling their product or its proficiency. I will still be happy if it performs as they say and I think it may well perform better. It will be interesting to see if the company check again in six months, which any good installation company should do I think.
They defended their choice of panels and inverter even though they gave a choice. For instance you could choose which inverter, but they said if (in the unlikely event) there was a malfunction, this inverter could be replaced very quickly, whereas others took slightly longer.
Installation was at the time and date they said. A good, friendly , efficient and courteous team installed and cleared up after themselves.
They then asked for feedback about a week later to ensure we were satisfied.
Now we wait for the meter to be installed!
Several other companies that I contacted did not even deign to a site visit. They looked at the house on Google maps and suggested what type of system would fit on my roof. Not good enough.

I spent 2 weeks sitting on the internet trying to understand all about the rebates and Recs. I didn't want to be ripped off and wanted to understand everything before I started talking to companies. It was very important to me that the company we chose did not "go under" once the government stopped the rebates. We have paid a little bit more but we are happy with the company and their service. I also investigated the panels and inverter that we purchased to make sure that we got the best we could afford. I do wish that I had started looking earlier as we were paid $25 per rec by the time we put the solar in which did mean a higher price.
