Outstanding Solar Company - Highly Recommended
Without exaggeration, every part of our experience with EPC Solar was beyond exceptional. The communication, the openness, the friendliness, the price, the quality of the job and the after sales support has been absolutely outstanding. We elected to go with the quality system due to longer warranties and installed solar monitoring.
The install was straight forward and they worked around our business hours.

I spoke to two other suppliers and one provider has slightly cheaper batteries (different brand though), but I decided it was worth spending a little bit more for the good service.

They analysed our bills and usage profile and showed us a graph of when we use our power, what portion of the use can be covered by solar, how much money we would save etc. which we were very impressed by.
We recently received our first bill since having the solar installed, and our savings were even more than we expected. We couldn't be happier with the service we received from EPC Solar and have recommended them to many of our friends.

Our system is totally Off Grid - it is our only electric power source. The system that was installed in 2017 was not the system EPC quoted us on. Everything was left to the last minute throughout, including the ordering of the equipment, the installation process and the submission of the necessary paperwork for warranties, despite EPC being given regular updates by us regarding timelines.
Throughout 2018 the only immediate response from EPC came when the system shut down altogether one weekend in mid-2018. They came straight out but they couldn't do anything. We were without solar power for a week and had to manually turn the generator on and off to run things. The generator installed by EPC Solar was installed inside the battery room but without an external exhaust. Toxic fumes were a real problem during this time.
When we were asked in early 2019 by the Clean Energy Regulator to date and list the contacts and issues we have experienced with EPC in chronological order, I stopped counting at 30.
The Clean Energy Regulator did an inspection in January 2019. Their report listed 3 Medium non-compliance issues, 5 Minor non-compliance issues and 2 Non-regulatory issues. None of which have since been remedied by EPC Solar. These are things we were totally unaware of and not included in the list of issues we noted in our diaries.
Even now, sixteen months after the installation, our generator still will not kick in automatically, no matter how often the inverter calls for it. The last communication we received from the EPC Solar Canberra was a text message from the Managing Director which included the 'F' word and a denial of any responsibility for the generator. All of this can be verified (by emails, texts and videos...) or I would not want it published.
Despite our horrible experience with this particular company, I would recommend anyone given the opportunity to install off-grid solar power, to just do it. We have been able to get assistance from some other, very qualified installers, who have helped remedy many of our issues (of course we had to pay them, but that is just how it goes sometimes). On the whole, being off-grid can be quite liberating.
