Quality System, a bit pricey compared to others but quality over price.

Had a 5.5 kw SG5K-D Sun-grow Inverter installed with 12 x Canadian panels on the roof - single story install at close to $12k. Easy Install, fast process, good quality, going strong 3 years later.

The truth

Sales quoting / all the facts weren't layed out after the installation the gst was charged on the initial price at after gov't rebate and paying full amount with discount. They quoted for a catch power relay a meter amalgamation put a timer on hot water system they were going to charge 750 dollars for a 200 dollar switch after talking to them they charged 375. The installation went well polite tidy punctual. They organised the grid connection customer service so so i wasn't made aware of the initial cost till the invoice came in

Efficient and reliable service

Dealing with one power seller was really easy. The sales person who visited was very knowledgeable and took the time to make sure. I understood what I was buying and how the system's work. The installation process was easy and the Installers knew what they were doing and were very pleasant To deal with. Everything happened on the dates they were supposed to happen.
The only delay seems to be The upgrading of My electrical box to a smart metre it's due for upgrade. In a few Days. The after sale service from montgomery has been excellent easy to contact and very helpful

Install neat as a pin but…

Started the solar journey, and generally underwhelmed. The salesman quotes a 20.1% r.o.i. but in reality with my FTI of 12c kWh payback is > 10 years. At my age, not going to realise the benefits. Salesman’s modelling was out, utilising unrealistically low fees costs compared to the current energy plans and don’t get me started of FTI’s. Origin energy are practically using my panels for free. Why are solar plans more expensive per kWh? Pre-sales lobbying and promises 4/10 (in hindsight)
Installation was exceptional (9-10) , but installer didn’t want to sort out the comms issue with the inverter to router. That took 6 months and endless calls before the boss got involved. Customer service 2/10
Hardware appears midrange so fingers crossed.
First real bill… they just want to rabbit on about the solar credits BUT the numbers don’t add up and guess what? Origin blame Onepower and Onepower blame Origin, so we the customer are stuck in the middle with zero rights.
At our age we should’ve steered clear of the whole mess. Let’s see what the next 12 months bring! At the moment total rating is 4/10

One Power's Sean Barry makes your installation his priority

From the first contact it was abundantly clear, One Power's Director Sean Barry treats his customers like family. Not only installing, but ensuring your system is the most beneficial long term future proofed Solar system you could ask for.
By all means obtain multiple quotes, then compare, cost, efficiency, performance, back up support and warranty
Your confidence in One Power is assured whatever you decide.

Amazing expertise, great honesty and top quality system and installation

One Power first of all is not based in Newcastle. Head Office is on the Goldcoast and they have Newcastle, Minchinbury, Wollongong and Perth.
No lies, expertise at its best but most of all honesty.

Don't trust them when you ask them for help after Installation

I am Vision impaired Blind & have contacted One Solar for the last 2 months trying to get help on how to use the Alpha App for the Battery they installed but they say they are LISTENING but never any help. From the day it was installed on the 23rd August until 22 October.
Paid $10,400 to install Battery you would think they would spend 1 hour showing you how to use the app, so don't expect any help after you have paid for your system totally money focused certainly NOT Customer Satisfaction Focused wouldn't recommend them. They flush their customers down the Toilet.

The team of three (2 installers and an licenced electrician) arrived on time.
They had to uninstall our 11 year old 1.5kW system before they could start on the new system.
All went to plan and the installation was an expected success and we were producing power just after lunch.

One Power Solar... pushy but very easy.

I was contacted by the one power sales person. Their marketing technique is to contact only via the phone and not email which i wasnt happy about. Their sales person (Oli) came to our house, explained the process, answered our questions and was very knowledgeable. We ended up signing with them and he said they could install in a few days. This also made me nervous.
At the agreed time, their installers arrived and hit the ground running. They were very friendly and Pat took the time to explain the setup which was appreciated. Installation was done in a half day.
The whole process was very easy and explained to me. No arguments there. They set up the automatic debits and the relevant sign off process via text links.
Now i need to sit back and watch the system to ensure that i get what i needed. Thanks.

Very happy with our decision

The sales process was very easy to understand for us, considering we were new to the solar experience, as the rep explained all our queries in plain terms.

The installers were on time, friendly & told us everything that was to go on during the day, including getting our input into where the panels & inverter were to be installed - they worked with us, not for us.

After installation the company got back in touch with us regarding the next stages, meter box etc.
Very professional.

8 months later we asked Graham: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

Although it's only been 1 year, there has been no need/problem to contact the suppliers or installers.
Touch wood, everything seems to be doing it's job, our power bills have dropped, & we're more than happy with our system.

Great communication and service

The sales person knew their stuff, explained everything thoroughly, quick to reply to emails. We decided to go ahead and the installation went without a hitch. The installers were on time, friendly and did a great job. Awaiting to be connected to the grid which they are organising for us.

8 months later we asked Mel: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

Yes we have been in credit for about 8 months and then those credits got us about half way through winter before we had to pay. This is as expected amd have had no problems with the panels or inverter. The inverter mobile app has also had an upgrade during that time which is great and is a compliment to check against the AGL app of the energy provider to understand if the power being used and fed back into grid is correct.

Most informed salesperson who highlighted issues the other trades people overlooked.

Very prompt. Quality product but high priced. Not much after service contact, and the crew doing the fitting were too much of in a hurry to give much information on what we just purchased.
The grid connection was organized by One Power efficiently. AGL replaced the old meter with an excellent contractor.

Installer was really good

Sales have a good sales talk explain everything & of course I’m convinced to sign after all the talk. Interest free plus the government subsidy of $3,500. Price per panel quoted $500 and I need 22X $500 = $11k there is extra $900+ and plus gov subsidy In total Almost $15k.
Installer ok 2 person he told me after 2 days I will receiving email and that’s the time I have to call my electric company. I wait, no email receive then I follow for about a week. Following week manage to get someone and contact electric company to tell them that I have solar install. They booked in for technician to change m electricity meter just after 15 days. So like now I have my solar using but nothing much to tell.
One more thing one of my colleague at work they have installed solar and payong only for 20 panels at $3,200 plus gov subsidy that’s all sane at 6.6. I’m a bit disappoint when she tell me that.

Disappointment for me was after the installation no follow up email or call asking how is the installation go and just even saying congratulation your part of one solar.

Still haven't had had anyone show us how to work it

The sales and quoting were great, they went through the process and explained going forward.
The installation was awesome couldn't ask for nicer guys, very professional.
After sale service has been a let down. We were told at our first meeting that someone would be out 3 weeks after the installation to install the app on our phone and to go through everything with us, well it's now been more than 3 months and we still haven't seen anyone.
I called to ask what was going on, they took all my details and said someone will call me back. After a week and no call I called again to go through the same process again but this time Sean called me and he promised someone would call me in the next day, well it's now been another week and nothing, no phone call nothing.
After sale service is just as important as getting you to sign up but unfortunately their after sale service is nothing like the first steps.
We have no idea if our system is working properly or not.

Canadian Solar Panels

It is a very confusing market. I kept trying to compare apples with apples, however, someone always had something else to add or say. I'm glad I reached out to SolarQuotes who suggested I get some more quotes as my initial quote was rather high. Our 4th quote was with One Power who had yet another option for us. The salesman initially quoted me my requested QCells and specified inverter and then explained the benefits of Canadian Panels and Sungrow. As we found his quote reasonable, and his information good, we decided to sign. He also recommended we leave our current 8 panel 1.5kW system operational as it is still working fine. There are cheaper panels and systems advertised on TV, however, we are happy with this choice. The after sales service and installation process has been very good. The system is up and running now and I just have to deal with AGL to get a better price. I found the whole process a bit daunting and exhausting and I was probably worn down by salesmen at the end of it. I def know I am worn out!
