Original Review on 23-04-2020:

Excellent installer and very efficient sales team.

Sale/quoting process was very effective with the actual installer doing a site visit the morning after I called with a detailed quote following that afternoon (others did not visit before quoting). Ours was a difficult install with some important considerations we wanted included (windy marine environment, flat commercial style roof with no penetrations through the flat section and a specific site for the inverter inside our garage...opposite meter box but a difficult cable run). Hence we valued being able to discuss the install, on site (at a suitable social distance), with the installer prior to agreeing to proceed.

Installation was not as smooth as possible due to some issues with factory supply of the panels (so took longer than planned with the installer having to come to site 3 times) but the installer was excellent and met all of our agreed conditions without question. Everything they did was of very high quality, cable run (in conduits as required) exceedingly neat, meter box and Inverter installations very neat and installation on the roof of very high quality. We are very impressed with the installation team (and the sales team at Shine Tech). Every person we dealt with was efficient, knowledgeable and polite.

Customer service was faultless (notwithstanding the factory panel supply issues), grid connect was organised in the evening of the quote being accepted and their welcome pack with very detailed instructions on the system and of the connection process to Fronius was helpful and efficient.

All in all, we are very impressed with Shine Tech and their installation and sales teams and look forward to the system producing energy for us (tomorrow...final part of the install currently in progress).

Finally, it is worth noting that the installers were very careful with COVID-19 requirements (wiped down the inverter and cavity hatches after install, remote signing of REC's, minimisation of time inside the house, maintained social distance etc).

9 months later we asked Ian: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

Yes, it has reliably produced solar power at the level I expected with no problems thus far.

NO way to contact - Website closed, email cancelled, no phone calls picked up - SEEMS not to be active any more

We got our system installed in Dec 2018 and we found water leaking in Apr 2020. They sent someone to fix it but recently we noticed the leak still occurred . We tried to contact them on email but the email was but the email is no longer exist. We called to the number 1800 989 888 but no one picked up the phone.

We have no choice to contact the Consumer Affair and will do it next week.

Top quality istallation.

The installation went well at the end. The first team that came to install were not briefed at all about the installation so when I told them that it had been arranged for them to help me remove my solar hot water system of my roof to make way for the panels they were not prepared to help so I told them to leave till they informed about the job properly as I was spending $11000 on this hot water and solar electric installation and wanted men that were serious and knew the plan for the job properly before starting work. So the hot water tank got installed that day and another electrician came to install a few days latter. He did a very good job and arranged the panels in a better way than the plans to avoid shade from the pipes on my roof. Even he did not realize the complexity of the job until more parts turned up latter and he came back to fit them having to undo wires to include the water heater controller. I think the supervisors need to give the installers all the information about the job before sending them to the work site. This is my only criticism . I am very happy with the final result and so far it is working very well.

Contract was for 21/ 310 watt panels, ended up with 15/275 and 6/310 panels, a mix up maybe, installers who did a good job should have checked prior to delivery, it may have been out of their hands.
I told installers I want what i paid for and it was agreed to keep installing and another 310 watt panel was added at a later date, giving me more than i paid for.
Contract was for 6.51kw system with fronius 3 phase invertor.

Found out that last system fitted in area was also short on kw, could be another mistake or common practice, we hope not, I have recommended them on, but with a warning to check your panels.

If there is a problem with different wattage panels can you let me know.
Thanks Grahame 0417430649.
Note: I have also advised other clients to check out your site, very helpful.

Really helpful, very prompt service. Always contactable. Seem to have a lot of knowledge of industry trends, standards, specs etc. Gav certainly didn't want to entertain any option of the cheap rubbish that is going around. I feel confident now that spending hard earned $$ on a quality system (LG PANELS and Fronius Inverter) was the right thing to do!

Shine Tech Solar really came to the party. The concerns of the previous blog were systematically addressed and professionally resolved. Now I have a system that meets my needs and creates a small renewable return.
I've recommended Shine Tech Solar to several colleagues who have also received great deals and great after sales service.

Original Review on 23-12-2015:

This company is run by a Solar Technician/Installer not by sales staff. Whilst he has a vast product knowledge and installation skills there are No frills, the purchaser needs to be cognisant of product terminology, good understanding of what you want, wish to achieve and ballpark product costs. This supplier is not for the Solar novice.
If the above criteria is met you will be pleasantly surprised with latest updated products, alternative options and practical solutions to your individual installation all at installer price rates, even passing on some products at cost price.
Alphas include:
Latest Quality products
No high pressure sales pitch - just facts
Product/Installation cost well below market rates
Professional install
After sales support excellent
Deltas include:
Installation vehicle was old an unreliable - broke down twice
Some parts had to be sourced by purchaser - Installation vehicle with parts was unavailable
Solar Technician/Installer had genuine domestic issues - delaying installation

7 months later we asked John: "Are you happy with the performance of your system so far?"

The system hardware has performed to quoted standards. Installation to required specifications has been problematic.
Twelve months after installation however there have been installation issues that were not foreseen (nor anticipated) by the installer.
My installation of 32 solar panels and 5Kw hardware (Whilst capable of producing more power it's limited to the maximum rebate of 47cents/u to export to the grid) are on my workshop inclusive of a battery backup system, 50m away from my house ie. mains powerboard.
The system had been producing well (27 panels) prior to the upgrade and battery back installation 12mths ago. A return of a modest $30/quarter from Western Power. Subsequently I've paid every quarter.
Issues:
1. Initially the system wasn't wired to export to the grid.
2. The battery bank was fully charged but not wired to for daily domestic use at night 1800 hrs - 0600 hrs
3. The battery bank was not wired to cut in during a blackout. A 50m walk in the dark to engage a manually was required. This status still remains.
The installer has advised he will supply and install the 50m cable to the powerboard FoC (still waiting). I will do the trenching.
