SolarWatt solar panels review

SolarWatt's panels are produced in Germany and the Dresden-based company says it has  20 years of experience in solar module production. The company has an Australian office located in Sydney.

SolarWatt panels available in Australia have conversion efficiencies ranging from 16.4% to 19.4%. One of the standout attributes of Solarwatt solar panels is the product warranty offered by the company - a whopping 30 years; and this is regardless of the model chosen.

In April 2020, the company announced it closed the first quarter with the strongest result in the company's history. It said that From January to March, more than twice as many orders were received as in the first quarter of 2019; but didn't provide any figures beyond that; e.g. capacity or number of units sold. Still, the future looks bright for SolarWatt at this point in time.

The panels are getting the job done, even on the overcast days I'm still getting solar power at a lower rate but it all adds into lower electricity costs.

Probably because we have over oversized the panel array relative to the inverter (8kw panels, 6kw inverter) the system seems remarkably efficient under less than ideal conditions and puts out a lot of energy.

We chose to go with the German Solarwatt panels manufactured in Dresden. There were 32 x 320 Watt Panels put on the roof capable of producing up to 10.24kW of total solar power. Maurice and his team worked hard to get this accomplished seemingly effortlessly and showing care and competence.

They have a 30 year warranty. I was expecting better energy production in winter, although I don’t know how they compare with other brands.

I've been impressed with the panels' ability to generate some energy even on dull days. Adding StorEdge optimisers allows the panels to perform well even while unexpected distant objects and power lines cast small shadows on the panels.
