SolarQuotes Good Installer Guarantee

SolarQuotes Good Installer Guarantee

Our #1 priority at SolarQuotes is if you choose one of our referred installers, you get a well-installed system. Which means we stand by our installers 100%.

If you believe your system has not been installed to the specification promised, we'll work with you and the installer to make sure it is.

In the unlikely event the promised installation isn't delivered, we'll engage another installer - at our cost - to make it right.

We're here for you. Good installation - guaranteed. See details...

What The Good Installer Guarantee Covers:

This guarantee applies where:

  1. you have had a solar system supplied and installed by one of our referred installers on a residential premises, using panel, inverter, battery and racking brands from our recommended charts at time of installation;
  2. you have approached your installer directly in relation to your concern and given them a reasonable opportunity to respond, to investigate and to rectify any relevant issue, and the issue has not been rectified;
  3. you raise any issue with a relevant solar system with us in writing to: [email protected] by no later than 12 months after the date of installation of the system;
  4. you permit the installer and/or SolarQuotes to visit the site (and ensure that safe site access can be achieved) within a reasonable period of time to review and assess the solar system and its operation, during usual business hours; and
  5. after we have assessed the solar system, we form the view there is a defect or problem with any part of the system or its installation as a result of an act or omission of your installer, a failure in any part of the system due to defective components (as determined by us), or it does not meet the relevant specifications.

If your solar system is still not working properly after any remedial work (and/or replacement, if necessary) has been carried out by your installer, our obligation under this guarantee will be limited to us engaging another installer to assess and rectify the problem with your solar system only.

We do not accept any liability nor responsibility for any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or any other relevant legislation (because you have a legal relationship with your installer, and not with us).

What it doesn’t cover

Without limiting the above, this guarantee does not apply:

  1. to the extent that your solar system (or any part of it) has been damaged by any weather event, third party, or any other form of damage outside the reasonable control of the installer;
  2. if the solar system (or any part of it) chosen by you is not suitable for your needs for any reason; or
  3. if you have sought and obtained a refund or any other remedy from the installer under the Australian Consumer Law.

We are very fussy about which installers we allow to provide you with quotes.

That's why my quote form is a bit more extensive than some of the other, copycat solar quoting sites out there that have popped up since we began. Sure, it takes a bit longer, but it's perfect for you if you want to work with experts, not cowboys. The best solar installers insist on detailed information to provide the best quote to homeowners like you. I could shorten my form, and get more homeowners to complete it, but then the only installers I could get to reply with quotes would be the "cowboys".

While my form may take a bit longer, you'll get up to 3 free, no obligation quotes from highly-qualified installers – quotes that are perfectly tailored to your home, energy and budget considerations. No back and forth. No wasted time. Quotes done right the first time.

Thanks! But before I arrange your quotes...

I just want to be clear that buying a totally off grid system is a major investment. Typically they are at least 4 times the price of standard grid connect solar system (i.e. a small system starts at about $20k).

If you are looking for solar + batteries, but have easy access to a grid connection it is much more cost effective to stay on the grid with your batteries.

Why do we ask for your phone number?

A critical part of getting the right sized system is understanding how and when you use electricity in your home.

So the reason we ask for your phone number is so that each solar installer may call you to better understand your unique requirements and make sure that you are getting a system that will suit you best. Beware solar companies that make no effort to understand your situation!

We've found a possible match in the Australia Post database. An accurate address will help you get your quotes faster:

We classify installations for bills under $1000 per month as residential (even if on business premises)

I'm sorry to say this...

How does SolarQuotes make money?

SolarQuotes makes money by charging solar companies (who have been personally vetted by Finn) for referrals to people who ask us for quotes.

They pay us a small fee (around $55 + GST*) if we send them your quote request. We get paid whether you choose to buy solar from them or not. That’s how we stay independent.

The solar installers that we accept into our referral network:

Do you pay more by using a solar installer referred by SolarQuotes?

The only extra cost to the solar installer who sends you a quote through SolarQuotes is $55. This compares very favourably with alternatives such as newspaper advertising, Google advertising etc.

The nature of our quotes service - with multiple installers providing competing quotes to one customer - means that installers must provide great hardware, great service and be competitive on price to win your business.
