I haven't seen any Teco split or ducted air-con systems in action, but some of the feedback we've received from installers hasn't been particularly complimentary; one mentioning "cheap and nasty". However, some Australian customers have noted them being good value for money and reliable.

The splits and ducted systems carry a 7-year warranty, which is a couple of years more than some other brands. A long warranty is nice, but it's of course best not to have to make use of it in the first place.

Teco offers split/multi-split, ducted, window and portable air-conditioning systems. We'll take a quick look at the splits and ducted solutions.

Split/Multi-Split Systems

In split systems, Teco offers solutions in 2.6 kW - 8 kW capacities, which have between a 3 star and 9.5 star energy rating on the cooling (depending on model and climate zone) and 2.5 stars for heating. The Coefficient Of Performance rating ranges from 3.3 to 4.13.

Indoor noise levels range from 47 dB(A) to 54 dB(A), and for the outdoor units, 58 dB(A) to 64 dB(A).

The energy star rating for cooling on these units is 3 - 3.5 stars (average climate) and 2.5 stars for heating. Indoor noise levels — depending on mode and unit — range from 39 dB(A) to 45 dB(A). Outdoor noise levels are 58 - 59 dB(A).
