The Toshiba brand is part of the Carrier Global Corporation. AHIC is the Australian distributor of Carrier and Toshiba air conditioners, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of AHI Carrier.

Toshiba's association with air conditioning manufacturing dates back to the 1930s. In 1980-1981, Toshiba mass-produced the world's first air conditioners with inverter-driven compressors, which was a big step up in terms of energy efficiency.

Toshiba Air Conditioning Solutions

Toshiba offers a wide range of air conditioning solutions, including single/multi split, ducted, VRF, ceiling cassette and under- ceiling systems. We'll just take a quick look at the split and ducted solutions.

Toshiba Split Systems

Toshiba's split system air conditioner range includes:

• B2KVG-A: 2kW to 10kW capacities.
• E2KV2G-A Seiya: 2kW to 7kW capacities.
• E2KVG-A Seiya Classic: 2kW to 10kW capacities.
• E2KVSG-A Shorai Edge: 2kW to 7kW capacities.
• E2KVRG-A Haori: 2.5kW to 4.6kW capacities.
• E2KVCG: Cooling Only 2.5kW to 6kW capacities.

The outdoor units for all split systems use  R32 refrigerant (Difluoromethane). 

For all the models above aside from the cooling-only E2KVCG, the  hybrid inverter also combines two compressor control modules to maintain comfort with maximum energy efficiency. This offers Pulse Amplitude Modulation, PAM, for faster results, while Pulse Width Modulation, PWM, provides optimum energy efficiency when maintaining the temperature desired.

Some of the product lines listed above have an IAQ filter that absorbs and decomposes smoke, ammonia and volatile organics, food smells and other unpleasant odours. It also helps prevent mould and fungi formation..

Aside from the included remote, Toshiba's T-Zone Air app allows you to use your smart phone or tablet to control a system, from wherever you may find yourself. For multi-split arrangements, up to 14 zones with their own custom settings can be specified.

Toshiba Ducted Aircon Systems

Toshiba's ducted solution is the RAV-GM series; available in 5kW - 24kW capacities and in mid-static, high-static, digital inverter and super digital inverter variants.

As with most of the splits, the ducted system's hybrid inverter also combines two compressor control modules to maintain comfort with maximum energy efficiency.

The  RAV-GM's T-Zone Air feature allows control of a Toshiba air conditioning system via your smart phone or tablet, and up to 14 zones can be set.

Indoor noise levels range from 34 - 50 dB(A) inside and 48 - 63 dB(A) outside depending on model and mode.

The outdoor unit uses R32 refrigerant.

Warranty Information

All Toshiba residential air conditioning systems carry a seven year parts and labour warranty.
