Company Info
When it comes to company history, Weidmüller has it in spades. Established in 1850, the range of electrical products the company manufactures is broad, and among them are EV chargers. Weidmüller has production facilities and distributors in more than 80 countries and around 5,700 employees worldwide — approximately 2,000 of whom work at the company's headquarters in Detmold, Germany.
Weidmüller EV Chargers In Australia
The company has several lines available for Australian buyers, the AC Smart Eco, Value and Advanced, all of which are manufactured in Germany.
AC Smart Eco
The AC Smart Eco is available in a few versions - single-phase with 7.4 kW output, an 11 kW three-phase model, and another three-phase version with 22 kW output. Available in tethered and untethered units, this is a pretty basic charger and priced as such. It doesn't support solar smart charging and doesn't have OCPP1.6 support.
Measuring 268 x 433 x 150 mm and weighing 3.6 kg (untethered version), it has a operating temperature range of -30°C ~ +50°C and has an IP54 ingress rating.
AC Smart Value And Advanced
The AC Smart Value and Advanced range offers single- and three-phase devices (7.4 kW - 11 kW/22 kW). They feature integrated load management and are networkable, support solar smart charging and are OCPP1.6 compatible. User authentication can be activated through RFID/NFC or mobile app.
Available in tethered and untethered versions, the AC Smart Value/Advanced chargers have the same dimensions as the ECO, but slightly heavier at 4.3 kg. The main difference between the Value and Advanced is the latter has more bells and buzzers for multi-user and multi-charger scenarios; such as in the workplace. The Advanced is probably overkill for home use.
All Weidmüller EV chargers come with an app for control and monitoring.
