Company Info
ZJ Beny claims more than 30 years experience of manufacturing; but Zhejiang Beny New Energy Co., Ltd. was founded in 2011 and it wasn't until 2019 the firm started manufacturing EV chargers.
The company has 12 production lines at its Wenzhou City facility and claims to have produced more than 2 million products. However, ZJ Beny doesn't just produce EV chargers. The firm also manufactures combiner boxes, DC isolator switches, circuit breakers, microinverter and even energy storage.
ZJ Beny BCP Series EV Chargers
In Australia, ZJ Beny's BCP series single-phase 7kW and 3-phase 22kW chargers have been available here for a few years - these were among the first budget priced home EV charging products offered in Australia. Out of all the brands listed on the SolarQuotes home EV charger comparison table, ZJ Beny products are still among the cheapest; but those we list offer a wide range of features including:
- Smart App (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth)
- Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB box extra )
- PEN fault detection
- RFID Card
- Solar-only, full speed, hybrid and dynamic load charging modes.
- OCPP 1.6J support
- Output power can be adjusted from 6A up to 32A.
- Scheduled charging and charging history
- Tethered (6m cable) and untethered models
- Ingress rating of IP65 (tethered model) and IP55 (untethered)
But be careful when selecting a ZJ Beny BCP series charger - quite a few models are available and they all look the same. Aside from single- and three-phase, tethered and untethered, there are also "un-smart" (that's how the company puts it) models. Among the features missing from the "un-smart" units is RFID, dynamic load balancing support, WiFi, OCPP 1.6J support, an app to monitor and control charging, and Bluetooth support.
If you're looking for a single-phase model with all the bells and buzzers, the BCP-A2N-L (tethered) and BCP-B2N-L (untethered) is the way to go. In the three-phase product line, the full-featured models are the BCP-AT2S-L (tethered) and BCP-BT2S-L (untethered). Bear in mind the DLB box is always an optional extra, costs $160 - $180 and and can be difficult to source in Australia at times.
All ZJ Beny charger units have measurements of W169 x H380 x D151 mm and an ambient temperature operating range of -25°C~+55°C.
Warranty Details
Zhejiang Benyi Electrical Co., Ltd (yet another version of the company's name) offers a 3-year warranty in Australia. That's not bad for a budget charger as some only offer two years; even among the higher-end brands. If you have a warranty claim, you'll need to contact the company that supplied it for further details.
