Nanjing Guanya Power Equipment Inverters: Pros & Cons
- Company no longer exists
About Nanjing Guanya Power Equipment
China's Nanjing Guanya Power Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in 2001 and produced grid connect and off-grid inverters, controllers and household power supplies. It appears the company shuttered sometime in 2020/21, but their solar inverters stopped being supplied into Australia years before that..
Guanya Power Inverters In Australia
Among the inverters CEC-approved for use in Australia the mid-late 2010s were the:
- GSG-1.5KSL-TWA (1.5 kW)
- GSG-2.2KSL-TWA (2.2 kW)
- GSG-3KSL-TWA (3 kW)
These transformer-based inverters were bulky, heavy and had a poor conversion efficiency. Unfortunately, back in the day some really crappy inverters were approved for use here and these were probably an example of that happening. Thankfully though, it doesn't seem many were installed in Australia.
Warranty Information
The GSG series inverters only had a 2-year warranty, which was poor even by standards back then. So if yours has failed, it's basically a boat anchor now — don't bother with trying to get it repaired (or even using it as a boat anchor).
With so many manufacturers having gone bust over the years, it's really important to choose an inverter brand carefully - here's how.
