Shanghai Surpass Sun Group (Surpass Sun Electric - SSE) was a Chinese company established in 1997 that once had an office in Australia - in Melbourne, Victoria. 

Company Details

While the firm was established in 1997, it didn't move into manufacturing solar and related components until 2009. Among them was the production of electric vehicle chargers, and solar inverters with a power range between 1.5 KW and 1 MW. 

But SSE is no more - it looks like the company wound up in 2024.

Surpass Sun Electric Inverters In Australia

Among the SSE inverters available here were single-phase solar inverters such as the SPS 4-5kW E/ED, SPS1K5TL, SPS2K2TL/ SPS3KTL-B, and SPS4KTL-B/ SPS5KTL-B / SPS6KTL. Three-phase solar inverters were also available in Australia with output capacities ranging from 6kW - 30kW.

In 2019, Australia's Clean Energy Council de-listed all Surpass Sun Electric solar inverters from its approved products list, citing potential safety issues. This meant SSE inverters no longer qualified for Australia's solar rebate. As far as we know, they were never relisted.

SSE Warranty Info

The product warranty accompanying Surpass Sun Electric inverters was 5 years. Given all SSE inverters were delisted in early 2019, that means any existing units are no longer covered by warranty.
