About Source Electric, Solar Inverters

Source Electric solar inverters review

Source Co Pty Ltd was an Australian distributor of switchboards and distribution boards, motor control centres, supply authority meters, temporary power boards, solar panels, Regis inverters and racking.

Company Info

Source Co was headquartered locally in Molendinar, Queensland. It also established offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong

The firm began manufacturing and distributing electrical products for the Australian market in 1999, and also supplied to electrical wholesalers in the South Pacific region. Their 'Regis' inverters weren't manufactured locally however, with the manufacturing facilitated by a company named LiYi, which was Source Co.'s representation in China.

The last time we spotted the Regis Electrical website live was in 2019. As at mid-2025, the website no longer loads, and Source Co. itself doesn't appear to exist anymore. An application for the winding up of the company was commenced by the plaintiff Deputy Commissioner of Taxation in January 2025.

Regis Inverters In Australia

Old Clean Energy Council approved inverter listings note Source Co as the manufacturer/licensee of 'Regis' inverters, which were available in output capacities of 1.5, 2 and 2.8 kW.

These transformerless inverters featured a maximum efficiency of 96.5%, an LCD display, Bluetooth communication, and were IP65 weather protected. The inverters measured 360 x 500 x 155mm and weighed 14 kilograms.

Regis inverters were launched in 2012 and the CEC listings expired in 2017.

Warranty Details

Regis solar inverters were covered by a 7-year standard warranty, which means none of the units still installed in Australia would still have coverage based on the CEC expiry date.
