Founded in 1984, China's Wolong Electric Group still appears to be producing solar inverters today; but the company's products are no longer Clean Energy Council approved for use with grid-connect solar power systems in Australia

Company Info
Wolong has 42 manufacturing plants and 5 R&D centers in China, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Mexico and India. As well as inverters, the firm produces electric motors, transformers, energy storage systems, and automation products for heavy industry.
Wolong Inverters In Australia
Among Wolong inverters approved for use in Australia by the Clean Energy Council in the past were:
- WL-1.5KS (1.5 kW)
- WL-2KS (2 kW)
- WL-3KS (3 kW)
- WL-3KSS (3 kW)
- WL-4.6KS (4 kW)
- WL-4KS (3.6 kW)
- WL-5KS (4.6 kW)
The WL series had an LCD screen, were IP65-rated transformerless single phase units using convection cooling, with an operating temperature range of -20 ~ +60C. The CEC listings for these inverters expired in early 2017, and as far as we're aware were never renewed.
Warranty Details
The WL inverter series had a 5-year warranty; so any still installed in Australia would no longer have warranty coverage. If your Wolong inverter is playing up, it's best to start thinking about choosing a new solar inverter.
