Michael's DMEGC Solar Panels Review & Verdict

Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.

A number of DMEGC solar panels became approved for use in Australia by the CEC in the latter half of 2024. But we need to see more of these "out in the wild" under Australian conditions for a while yet before forming an opinion. And a local, staffed office would be a big plus.

DMEGC Solar Panels: Pros & Cons

  • Wide range of 440W panels available
  • No Australian office.
  • New to the local market - performance in Australian conditions yet to be established.

About DMEGC Solar

Founded in 1980, DMEGC Solar is yet another Chinese panel manufacturer keen on grabbing a substantial share of the Australian home solar market.

Company Info

Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetics Co Ltd, or just plain DMEGC Solar, has a number of manufacturing bases in China - in Hengdian, Sihong, Qixian, Yibin, Lianyungang; plus one in South-East Asia. The firm boasts an annual production capacity of 23 GW cells and 21 GW modules. As at late March 2025, the company claims cumulative shipments over 50GW - but it doesn't specify if that tally is panels or cells; or both - likely the latter.

The company is part of Hengdian Group, which was established in 1975. Hengdian Group has its fingers in a number of pies: electrical and electronics, pharmaceutical and healthcare, film and entertainment; and financial, aviation, international commerce and other services.

DMEGC Solar Panels In Australia

As at late March 2025, DMEGC has dozens of solar panel models listed by the Clean Energy Council. But the only ones suitable for residential rooftop applications appear to be in the 440W category - and there are 15 models to choose from, some with the additional naming of "Infinity RT".

Their model designations all begin with DM440M10RT-54 and they come in a number of variations - some with silver frame, some black frame, all black, monofacial, bifacial double glass and more.

  • Conversion efficiencies range from 22.3% to 23%.
  • Temperature Coefficient of Pmax ranges from -0.29 %/°C to -0.31 %/°C
  • Weights range from 20.6kg for monofacial to 24.5kg for the bifacial models.

Throughout though, the sizes remain the same: 1762 mm x 1134 mm x 30mm, and all have N- type mono-crystalline cells.

Warranty Information

DMEGC Solar offer a product warranty of 20 or 25 years depending on the model, and a performance warranty of 30 years. For the latter, the company guarantees a minimum of 99% of nameplate output in the first year, then from the 2nd year a maximum 0.4 % degradation annually; for a minimum 87.4% in the 30th year.
