Said to have been founded in 2006, Dortmund Energy Co., Ltd's operations are a bit of a mystery.
Archived copies of the company's web site can't be found, but other firms using the brand's domain name started doing so around 2016, indicating the company had perhaps shut up shop by then.
The only reference to solar panels produced or distributed by the company are in relation to the DT-150P, reportedly a 150-Watt polycrystalline panel. But we have no further information on this model; not even its warranty details.
According to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the company did have an Australian presence at one point, with a registration beginning in 2014. ASIC published a notice of proposed deregistration for Dortmund Energy Pty Ltd in early February 2019. There was also a business name of Dortmund Energy Australia registered in 2015, which has since been cancelled.
Even if you have Dortmund Energy solar panels still within the warranty period, it's unlikely you'll have a successful claim unless the company that supplied and installed them is still around. If not, it's time to choose new solar panels.
