About Jiangsu Prefersolar Photovoltaic
Jiangsu PreferSolar was a Chinese solar panel manufacturer founded in 2006.
Company Info
PreferSolar's headquarters were noted as being in Union City, California. But in China, it was based in Xinba Technical Area, Yangzhong, Jiangsu.
The company disappeared around 2015, and as with many of its peers that didn't make it, the reason for its demise isn't known but cut-throat competition even in those early days likely played a role.
PreferSolar Panels In Australia
PreferSolar modules available and approved for use in Australia were from the PS series in wattages ranging from 230W to 250W. These panels had a conversion efficiency ranging from 14.05% to 15.27% and temperature coefficient of Pmax of -0.37%/?.
The PS range measured 1650 x 992 x 46 mm and weighed 18.5 kilograms. Their Australian approvals expired in 2014.
Warranty Details
PreferSolar PS solar panels initially had a short product warranty of 5 years, but that was boosted to 10 years in 2011. The performance warranty accompanying their modules was 25 years. So that means any still installed in Australia would be covered by the latter. But with the company having been out of action for many years, it's unlikely warranty can be claimed unless the local supplier/installer is still in business.
