Michael's Luxor Solar Panels Review & Verdict

Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.

Luxor was one of a number of German companies supplying Chinese-made panels into Australia in the 2010's. They are no longer CEC-approved at the time of updating this page (late 2025), and haven't been for some years.

Company Info

Luxor has been manufacturing pv modules since 2007. As well as its head office in Stuttgart, Luxor also has branch offices in Tokyo, Japan (established in 2012), and in New Jersey in the USA (est. 2016). Active in more than 85 countries, the company claims to have 6.8 GW production capacity.

Luxor Solar Panels In Australia

Luxor panels were offered in Australia in the early to mid 2010's by at least one of the bigger installation companies. But from at least 2019 and as at early 2025 none of its modules are approved for use in Australia by the Clean Energy Council. This means they aren't eligible for Australia's solar rebate, and most Distributed Network Service Providers (DNSPs) won't allow new installations to be connected to the grid.

When they were last available here, it seems the modules were from the Luxor Eco Line series, in wattages from 250W - 265W. It's unclear why the company stopped offering modules here, but it certainly isn't an uncommon occurrence - many manufacturers have exited Australia over the years. But we're still spoiled for choice of solar panels.

Warranty Information

When Luxor solar panels were installed here, it appears they were accompanied by a 12-year product warranty and 25 year performance warranty. This means there may still be some installed on rooftops in Australia that have warranty remaining. If you're having problems with your panels, you should first try contacting the company that installed them, as they are the primary party responsible for warranty claims. If that doesn't work out, try contacting Luxor using the details above.
