Michael's Sunport Power Panels Review & Verdict

Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.

Sunport Power solar panels were available in Australia for quite a few years and I've seen a couple of Australian online vendors still selling them, but as at late 2025 none of their modules are approved by the Clean Energy Council.

Company Info

Sunport Power has manufacturing plants in Wuxi, Xuzhou, and Nanjing in China. The firm says it has 4GW module production capacity with a corresponding vertical supply chain including back-contact cells and conductive back sheets.

As well as selling panels in Australia, the firm has a close association with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and was founded by Fengming Zhang, a former UNSW solar researcher.

Sunport Power Panels In Australia

While Sunport Power says it has a sales network in various countries including Australia, we only see a few vendors selling their panels here these days and none are approved by the Clean Energy Council as at late 2025.

But at one point not so long ago, some were. As recently as 2024 various SPP models were listed with capacities ranging from 370 Watts to 580 Watts; and before that, other SPP modules in the 330 Watt to 460 Watt capacity range were CEC-listed.

Warranty Details

SPP modules were accompanied by a 12 year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty.

If you have a warranty issue, instead of initially trying to contact Sunport's China HQ, first contact the company that supplied and installed them. On that note, among the Australian distributors of Sunport Power solar panels were Powerark (no longer operating) and Solar Juice - but it's not clear if the latter was a distributor of SPP panels that were used in residential installations.

Sunpower 370 P3. I assume it is my site, not the panels, or inventor, that make for my low winter power production. There have been no issues with the panels, and the slim line black is attractive, but I do not know how I should rate. Having no issues is good, but also to be expected by paying a premium.
