Michael's Fujitsu Air Conditioners Review & Verdict
Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.
One of the better known names in home air-conditioning in Australia, installers generally like them — but not all installers are Fujitsu General Australia fans. A couple we've spoken to have complained of the lack of spare parts and availability, and one said as they aren't significantly cheaper than Mitsubishi Electric, buyers should just go for that brand.

About Fujitsu
Founded in 1936 as Yaou Shouten Ltd. in Kawasaki, Japan, Fujitsu General commenced operations as a consumer electronics company. In the 1960s, Fujitsu released its first air conditioner, a window-type cooler.
Fujitsu General entered the Australian market in 1974.
In 2013, the firm was the first company to release air-con systems with R32 refrigerant (Difluoromethane) in Australia. R32 refrigerant is a lower global warming potential (GWP) alternative to R410A that was commonly used in new air conditioning systems. From 1 July 2024, small air conditioning equipment (mobile equipment exempted) with high GWP refrigerants such as R-410A could no longer be be imported into Australia; although some larger Fujitsu units still use it as at the time of writing.
