Hiconics Home Batteries
The interesting/confusing thing about Hiconics battery systems is the only product line approved by the Clean Energy Council for installation at the time of writing is the Hienergy series — but this wasn't featured on the Australian Hiconics website at the time of publishing.
The Hienergy series single-phase all-in-one modular residential energy storage system is produced in 5 kW and 6 kW power outputs and 5 - 30 kWh storage capacities, with the larger storage capacities (20 kWh - 30 kWh) requiring two stacks of modules.
The Hienergy provides critical load backup features to keep essential appliances running in a blackout situation. It offers 5-level cell protection and " advanced thermal management", but doesn't have a fan. The operating temperature range of the system is -20C - +55C, with derating above 45C.
Hiconics says the Hienergy is Virtual Power Plant (VPP) capable, but see notes on warranty below regarding this.
Warranty Details
Hiconics warrants that it will repair or replace (at its discretion) a battery system or any part thereof if it is faulty or defective in manufacture or materials for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase.
For systems being used under self-consumption mode, the warranty for each battery module is at least 70% of its usable capacity for 10 years or 6,000 cycles; whichever comes first. For other applications, which may include VPPs (documentation isn't clear), the warranty can expire earlier if a total energy of 3MWh per kWh usable capacity has been dispatched from the battery.
