Michael's Redx Energy Batteries Review & Verdict
Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.
While we've had a couple of customer reviews and both were positive, we've seen little feedback either way from trusted installers concerning RedX/Renox home batteries.
Redx Energy Batteries: Pros & Cons
- Redx RX-2505AC under-powered, light on capacity and can't be installed outdoors without an additional enclosure.

Company info
While locally owned and operated, Renox products are manufactured in China. The lithium-iron phosphate battery cells used in its home energy storage products are produced by China's Sunwoda; which appears to have a couple of decades of lithium-ion battery production experience under its belt.
RedxX rebranded to Renox in 2025. Product warranties on RedX systems are still valid and systems fully supported by the firm.
Renox Home Battery Systems
Renox's focus is on AC-coupled, all-in-one battery systems.
RX-2505AC
The RX-2505AC is a Clean Energy Council approved all-in-one AC coupled solution with a 2.5 kW solar/battery inverter and 4.8 kWh of storage - so it's a little light on both power and storage capacity. The RX2500 measures 600mm W x 900mm H x 145mm D and it weighs 75kg. It has an operating temperature range of -10°C to +50°C. With an ingress rating of IP32, the RX-2505AC needs to be installed indoors, but there is an enclosure available for outdoor use; sold separately.
RX-0050 And RX-0050B
The RX-0050 And RX-0050B are CEC approved battery modules for use with a Renox battery inverter. The modules offer a useable capacity of 4.6kWh, measure W:400mm, D:620mm and H:145mm, and weigh around 56 kg each.
RX-7000 Plus Series
Another all-in-one system, the RX-7000 Plus Series boasts a 7kW hybrid inverter and 13.4kWh of battery storage. Its single stage inverter offers 3 Maximum Power Point Trackers (MPPTs). The RX-7000 Plus Series includes backup and off-grid functions, and features the Renox patented Single-Stage Buck-Boost Inverter with Step Modulation.
RX-5000HY and RX-7000HY
The RX-5000HY and RX-7000HY have a 5kW/7kW hybrid inverter respectively and offer 5 kWh (up to 40kWh) of battery storage. Along with backup features, both systems leverage Renox’s Single Stage Buck-Boost Inverter with Step Modulation technology
