Finn's KEBA EV Chargers Review & Verdict
Finn Peacock has been a Chartered Electrical Engineer since 1998, and is ex-CSIRO
KEBA chargers aren't the prettiest chargers around; although beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But there's more than looks that concern me.
Given comparatively high pricing, no mention of a local contact point or warranty details on the company's website, and the lack of response to various questions we've sent them, in my opinion, there are better brands for Australian EV owners to consider.
If you do decide to buy a KEBA charger, make sure you get one from the c-series so you'll have access to smart charging features.

About KEBA
KEBA, headquartered in Linz, Austria, has been manufacturing automation solutions for industry, banking and service automation since 1968. The firm moved into energy automation and manufacturing EV chargers in 2009.
"Climate Neutral" Chargers
One of the company's claims to fame is making what it says are "climate neutral" devices since 2022. KEBA took stock of the entire lifecycle - from extraction of raw materials to production and disposal – and took measures to reduce or avoid emissions; or compensates for them by investing in certified climate protection projects.
KEBA EV Charger Models
The company's KeContact P30 wallbox family has several variants - the a-series, c-series and x-series. All are accompanied by KEBA's eMobility App to control and manage the wallbox.
KEBA KeContact P30 a-series
The a-series is available in single and three-phase models. These are basic chargers without solar smart charging features, and they come with a 6 metre charging cable.
- 4.6 kW and 7.4 kW output single phase models
- 11 kW and 22 kW three-phase models
- USB and RJ45 interface
- Can work in offline mode where internet access isn't available
KEBA KeContact P30 c-series
The major difference between the a-series and c-series is inclusion of an energy meter and OCPP support, which enables integration with smart home tech, solar power systems and third-party services.
- Single and three-phase operation (up to 22kW)
- 6-metre charging cable.
- Programmable display
- OCPP support
- UDP interface and Modbus TCP
- USB and RJ45 connection, LSA+ support
KEBA KeContact P30 x-series
While not really applicable to home scenarios, as well as charging, the x-series enables control of multiple charging points, including dynamic load management. One x-series wallbox can control up to 15 c-series devices.
- Single and three-phase operation (up to 22kW)
- 6-metre charging cable.
- Programmable display
- OCPP support
- UDP interface and Modbus TCP (passive and active), LSA+, UDP interface, USB and RJ45 connection, WLAN interface
You can find out more about these devices and compare them to others on SolarQuotes' EV charger comparison table.
KEBA Warranty Info
If you go looking for warranty documentation on the KEBA website, good luck. We weren't able to find it, and warranty documentation should be front and centre. There also wasn't Australian tech and warranty support contact listed on their site.
