Finn's Teltonika EV Chargers Review & Verdict

Finn Peacock has been a Chartered Electrical Engineer since 1998, and is ex-CSIRO

Another interesting player in the EV charger space. Teltonika is a relatively new entrant in the Australian market, and we haven’t had any feedback on the Teltocharge as yet from installers or Australians using these units.

Company Information

Teltonika was founded in 1998 by Arvydas Paukštys. Mr. Paukštys built his first radio when he was 11 years old and by the age of fifteen, was repairing broken TV sets and radios in his village. In 1992, he established his first company before later establishing Teltonika. In 2022, the firm started mass production of its EV charger, Teltocharge; which is now also available in Australia

Teltonika products are designed and developed by its engineering specialists in Lithuania and then manufactured locally in two manufacturing facilities – in Vilnius and Moletai.

About Teltocharge

The Teltocharge can deliver 7.36kW (single-phase models: EVC100 and EVC101), 11kW (three-phase models: EVC110 and EVC111) and 22kW (3-phase models: EVC120 and EVC121 . Its features include solar charging, dynamic load balancing and management, and is OCPP 1.6 compatible. It measures (width) 170mm x (height) 341mm x (depth) 94mm and comes with a 5m or 7.5m tethered or untethered cable.

For dynamic load balancing, a smart energy meter is required (not included) and CT clamps (included). The Teltonika Energy App allows for monitoring, management and optimizing of charging.

The Teltonika Teltocharge has an operating temperature range of -30C - +50C and is IP54 rated - meaning it can be installed outside. Internally, it appears to be quite well protected, with temperature sensors for all main components and other protection features.

An interesting aesthetic feature of the Teltocharge is interchangeable front plates; available in Slate Grey; Accoya Wood; Burgundy; Granite Brown and Winter White.

Warranty Information

There's a 36-month warranty period for the Teltocharge, but note the warranty term starts from the shipment date rather than purchase date.
