The company we used is local to us - would not recommend anyone dealing with an interstate company regardless of how good in case of problems down the track.
The system installed has a 5Kv inverter (Solar Edge) with 18 Astronergy solar panels mounted - ten facing NE and 8 NW as it's about 12 years too late to shift the house! This system can be shut down to around 7 - 8 volts if necessary to work on the roof or in the event of a fire etc - something that I've found out is not possible with all systems and can cause problems e.g. when floods hit an area.
Adrian, the person we dealt with, was excellent, and in talking with a couple living a few streets away who also used him they were of the same opinion. Cost of set up was over $20,000, but with rebates it came back to just under that figure.
Being mid winter here in Tasmania, and a cold and largely cloudy one this year, we haven't seen the full capability of the set-up yet. Since the power company installed the new meter which gives readings of units generated (15 days) it has put in an average of 7.9 Kwh per day - high of 13, lowest 2. On the old meter previous to that, it equaled or exceeded the power usage on several days (main power, not the heating power) winding the meter back to where it was or more 24 hours earlier.

Yes, very happy with it. Not so happy with the clouds that keep blocking it's performance in winter, but you can't have everything!
I should add that we also have a solar hot water system installed too. After the first few months we woke up to the fact that with everyone having showers at night, washing up etc, the HWS would turn on each night to reheat the cylinder and the power usage was not that much less than before. Switching it off it was found to still be more than hot enough by next morning when the sun came out again to heat things back up. Now there is a time switch installed which through the winter turns on for about 2 hours each night. As the weather warms up it will be cut back to 1 hour each night, then turned off completely through the summer, except if we get a couple of cloudy days. The power bill for the 3 months ending February this year came to $3.49 for power used for heating.

I was quoted by Dynamic Solutions and had the system installed before any of those 3 quotes had made any contact. The 3 quotes was a great idea but way too slow to actually work. The installer I chose was from the phone book and gave excellent service.

From a Tasmanian perspective there is an issue of mainland suppliers coming into our market providing cheap systems that may or may not be of good quality. Cheap doesn't necessarily mean a good efficient system. Do your homework and get plenty of quotes that can give you the information you need to make a comparison.

Service was excellent, and the business owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. I do independent research backed up what I was being told by the business owner, which gave me confidence that I was being told the truth.
