Norway's Eltek was producing residential solar inverters until just before it was acquired by another well-known inverter manufacturer, Delta Electronics, in 2015.
Eltek Inverters: Pros & Cons
- Eltek no longer produces solar inverters for residential applications
About Eltek
Eltek is a Norwegian electronics manufacturing company founded in 1971.
Company Information
Eltek started out producing rectifiers used in fire alarm controls. It wouldn't be until 2011 that the firm started producing its own grid-connect solar inverters - the Theia range.
The company was acquired by Delta Electronics in 2015, which also manufactures solar inverters (among other products).
Eltek Solar Inverters In Australia
As at June 2025, the only Eltek ' inverter' that is approved for use in Australia by the Clean Energy Council is the Flatpack2 48/3200 HE, which is a solar charger for telecom applications.
But some years ago, there were a bunch of models from the Theia range that were approved for use here; ranging from 1.75 kW to 19 kW capacity.
Eltek stopped producing Theia residential sol inverters after a recall in the USA of units manufactured between 2013 and 2015. Apparently, the capacitors were a potential point of failure, which would allow heat to build up; posing fire and impact hazards from the inverter's cover being ejected with force. By early 2015, Eltek had exited the segment and ceased all shipments globally. This occurred just prior to Delta formally acquiring Eltek in mid-2015.
It doesn't appear there was a similar recall in Australia, so perhaps the models/batches available here weren't affected.
Warranty Details
Eltek Theia solar inverters were accompanied by a 5-year warranty, but there were also options to extend it to 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.
So any still installed in Australia would no longer be covered under the standard warranty. If you need information or extended warranty support on your Eltek inverter, your best bet is either the company that installed it, or contact Delta Australia on 1300 335 823 for further instructions on making a claim.
As these inverters are getting rather long in the tooth now, repairing one outside of warranty that is having issues probably isn't worth it. Discover everything you need to know about choosing a new solar inverter.
