Michael's FXSOLAR CO LTD Inverters Review & Verdict
Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.
FXSolar, like quite a few of its Chinese contemporaries, entered then exited the Australian market pretty quickly in the early to mid 2010's - and wound up disappearing entirely. While some of their solar inverters were approved for use in Australia, I don't think many were installed here.
FXSOLAR CO LTD Inverters: Pros & Cons
- Company dissolved in 2015
About FXSOLAR CO LTD
FXSolar appears to have been a Chinese inverter manufacturer that existed between 2010 and 2015.
In an old list from 2014 detailing solar inverters approved for use in Australia by the Clean Energy Council, we can see several FXSolar models available here, being:
- FX-020TL (2kW)
- FX-030TL (3kW)
- FX-040TL (4kW)
.. but beyond that there's very little technical information still available online about these units, although it's safe to assume the "TL" on model names stands for "transformerless".
According to the articles incorporation lodged in 2010, the company had an association with Shaoxing Fengxing Electronic Technology. In 2015, the director of FXSolar lodged an application to strike the company from the UK's register, and FXSolar Co. was dissolved that year. Shaoxing Fengxing Electronic Technology doesn't appear to exist any more either, unless it has rebranded under another name -which isn't uncommon.
We don't have any warranty information for these inverters, but given their age now and FXSolar kicking the bucket so many years ago, warranty coverage is unlikely and repairs not worth the hassle or cost. Inverter technology has come a long way in the last decade. It's time to consider a solar inverter from another brand.
