Michael's IMEON Inverters Review & Verdict
Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.
Imeon Energy hybrid inverters were imported into Australia for a few years and the company also had a local presence, but for whatever reason (perhaps due to lack of uptake) that supply stopped and the local service centre is no more.

Company Info
Founded in 2013, Imeon Energy claims it was the first manufacturer of solar hybrid inverters to commercialise solutions integrating artificial intelligence (AI).
In November 2017, Imeon Energy opened a service centre in Melbourne — this was around a year after Imeon hybrid inverters were made available on the Australian market.
While Imeon is still going in its home country of France and a few other countries, the Melbourne service centre isn't and their hybrid inverters stopped being offered in Australia sometime after 2020.
Imeon Hybrid Inverters In Australia
Two of Imeon Energy's hybrid inverters that were Clean Energy Council approved and available in Australia were:
- The 9.12 (12 kW, three-phase, dual MPPT, 440 x 580 x 165 mm, 19 kg)
- The 3.6 (4 kW, single phase, single MPPT), 580 x 800 x 240 mm, 51 kg!)
These inverters had several modes:
- Smart grid
- Back up - UPS
- Off grid
- On grid
- VPP Ready
The devices could be monitored using the Imeon Online monitoring platform.
The CEC listings for both these inverters expired in 2022, and it doesn't appear they were renewed after that.
Warranty Details
The warranty period for the Imeon 9.12 and 3.6 was 10 years, *if* the inverter was connected to the internet — and that connection was active for a minimum 95% of operating time. There were also options to extend the warranty to 20 years.
If you're having problems with your Imeon Energy hybrid inverter, your first point of contact should be with the company that supplied/installed it before attempting to contact Imeon HQ in France.
