About Petra Solar Inc
Petra Solar was a US-based microinverter manufacturer and smart energy solution provider that was founded in 2006 and headquartered in New Jersey.
Among Petra Solar's activities was supplying microinverters integrated with other vendor's solar panels. Where these microinverters were produced isn't clear.
In 2009, the firm scored a juicy contract with New Jersey utility Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) to supply 200,000 utility pole-mounted AC solar panels (called Sunwave) over a few years; and the panels used were mainly Suntech.
In 2014, Petra Solar rebranded as Petra Systems to reflect the firm's expanded focus beyond solar energy, and some time after the company stopped producing microinverters for reasons unknown.
Petra Solar Microinverters In Australia
The only Petra Solar microinverter approved for use in Australia was the S200-V231-Z00A1-400 from the SC200 series, which was designed for use with 200 W to 240 W panels. Its Clean Energy Council approval expired in the middle of 2016. It appears the warranty on the SunWave product was 5 years, with options to extend it. But besides that, we don't have much further information.
