All Power General’s offices, plants and warehouses were located in Taiwan, with its head office in Hsinchu City. The company disappeared sometime in 2016 judging by when the firm's website went offline.

Power General Corp Inverters In Australia

Quite a few Power General Corp. solar inverters were approved for use in Australia by the Clean Energy Council at one point. Among them were the PV series in 1.5 kW, 2 kW, 3 kW and 3.6 kW capacities. These were transformerless units offering up to 96% maximum conversion efficiency. However, they only had an operating temperature range of -20 to 40 °C, meaning they weren't really suitable for the toastier parts of Australia.

These inverters measured 480 x 365 x 175 mm and weighed 25.5 kilograms.

Other models approved for use in Australia were WT (1.5 kW and 2 kW) and ES (1.5 kW, 2 kW, 3 kW and 3.6 kW) units.

CEC listings for all Power General Corp inverters expired in 2016 and obviously never renewed given the company went belly-up.

Warranty Details

We don't have any warranty information for any of these solar inverters, but chances are they are no longer covered as it was common for inverters of the time to have a 5-year warranty. Given the age and limited capacity of these units, if yours is playing up a repair is probably not worth the time and trouble. It's time to choose a new inverter.
