Michael's Trannergy Inverters Review & Verdict

Michael Bloch covers the latest developments in home electrification for SolarQuotes.

When Trannergy inverters were available in Australia, they were targeted towards the budget end of the market. There was nothing particularly remarkable about them, and the company eventually stopped supplying the devices here.

We won't list their website as at the time of updating this page in early 2025, it was generating a browser security warning.

Company Info

Trannergy was founded in 2010 when it established a facility in Shanghai Zhangjian's " hi-tech" zone. Aside from that, there's not a lot of solid info available about the company and its evolution aside from the usual corporate puffery that doesn't tell us much of value.

The company's products haven't been available for some time in Australia, and when we checked in early 2025, their website was out of action when trying to access it from AU.

Trannergy Inverters In Australia

When Trannergy inverters were available here in the early 2010's, output capacities ranged from 1.5kW to 4.6kW. The TL series were budget inverters (among the cheapest around at the time), with no standout features. The TL stood for "transformerless" and devices in this output range had a single Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT).

Warranty Details

In the early 2010's Trannergy inverters were generally covered by a 5-year warranty. When Trannergy inverters stopped being Clean Energy Council listed (meaning they were no longer eligible for Australia's solar rebate) isn't clear , but it's a safe bet any of these units still installed in Australia no longer have warranty coverage.

If your Trannergy inverter is on the way out (or already out), a repair outside of warranty is a waste of time and money. Consider a new inverter from a trusted brand.
