Company Info
U R Energy says it launched in Australia's solar market in 2009 and claims within 6 years it was servicing more than 26,000 residential and commercial customers across our country. U R Energy expanded into India in 2015, and then into the USA in 2016. The company is still operating today.
The company now procures, develops and installs solar power systems for residential, commercial and utility scale customers, and still offers U R Energy branded inverters that appear to be manufactured by another company.
U R Energy Inverters In Australia
Among the CEC-approved inverters available here was the URE 6k, which was a 6 kW three-phase string inverter with 2 MPPT trackers. It had a maximum conversion efficiency of 98.2%
The 6k measured 430mm x 613mm x 269mm and weighed 29 kilograms. It had an ingress rating of IP65, and an operating ambient temperature range of -25°C~60°C.
Warranty Details
U R Energy's 6k inverter had a standard warranty of 5 - 8 years, but could be extended to 20 years for an extra fee. Interestingly, the datasheet we saw mentioned a "designed lifetime" of >20 years, which could be considered a warranty of sorts.
If your U R Energy inverter is playing up and you still have warranty left, first try contacting your installer. If they are no longer around, then contact the manufacturer using the details listed above. If it turns out to be too much of a hassle, it might be time to choose another solar inverter brand.
